Non oil revenues have continued to increase. Some to actual growth, mostly due to new taxes/fees.

This is a 12 month rolling total. So it incorporates last year's December figures. Will be interesting to see what happens this December for sure.

One last note, specifically on the oil and gas figures, the 34% drop took place BEFORE the Lukoil and Rosneft sanctions had any impact. Remember there's a 1-2 month lag between sales and their impact of Russian tax revenue. You are seeing September/October sales, NOT November when Urals averaged $44

And expenditures (down 12%!!). So while the overall deficit only increased by a marginal 86 billion rubles, that is being driven by a reduction of spending exclusively.

On the whole, you can see that the Russian budget is doing much, much worse than previous years, with the crucia December to come.

Revenues are flat (up .7%) while expenditures are up 12.5%.

Now, trendlines. First 4 columns are total monthly revenues, oil and gas revenues, non oil gas revenues and expenditures. Next one is monthly deficit/surplus.

What jumps out is the drop in oil and gas revenues (34% yoy!)

Travels to games regularly, never misses a game on TV, etc. There is real enthusiasm for the sport, though it's still behind American football, baseball and basketball as far as team sports go.

I'd say football in US is basically what basketball is in Europe right now.

Football (soccer in US) has gotten a lot more popular over the past 20 years. It's geographically uneven, but there are pockets of genuine club culture. Portland and Seattle for example. Also a lot of fans root for European clubs.

A buddy is president of the local Newcastle fan club.
