Oh wow. I wasn't expecting my video on Tomb Raider's Unified Lara to become my top performing video, but I'm thrilled that it has! A huge thank you to everyone's who's watched it.

Here's a link for those yet to see it: youtu.be/_b0LPPu6jPo

On revealing this £900 purchase:
- Gohan is the face your confused coworkers pull
- Supreme Kai is the face your wife pulls
- Goku is the face your best friend pulls

(No, I did not buy it.)

My new desk buddy is thrilled to be here.

Going through these makes me realise how little I've drawn over the past two years while my PIP battle was taking all of my spare time and energy. Gotta do something about that this year and get back on the horse! Anyway, here's some vain self-portraits for YouTube channel art and stuff.

This one is all Sonic and I make zero apologies for that.

Posting some older art here that previously only existed on those "other" sites that we don't talk about anymore. 🧵

Some updated screenshots of Crisis Island! :) Come play the demo at @vgeevents.bsky.social's Bristol Video Games Expo this February and @debugexpo.com this April.

You can also wishlist the game on Steam right now: store.steampowered.com/app/2311560/...

You mean this Trails game? 😉

We finished watching the dub of Let's Play last night. An indie game developer has her game streamed by a popular YouTuber. He doesn't like it and his audience review bomb the game. Turns out, streamer's her new neighbour. Decent cozy watch. Little predictable, unlikely to win any awards, but cozy.

PTSD flashbacks of Mickey Mania.

Given my day job of 11 years is creating digital training materials, I should make a video about tutorials in games. What works, what doesn't, with examples and culminating in a list of best practices. A longer form project needing capture from multiple games, but an interesting one to chip away at.

Revisiting Fullmetal Alchemist 2003 as an older, mellower person who won't immediately write it off for not following the manga this time.

Croc: Legend of the Gobbos becomes this year's first Platinum trophy. Had a lot of fun with this remaster, I don't think I could go back to playing the Saturn original with tank controls.

Working on some level tiles.

I think my kids are now mature enough to be introduced to Fullmetal Alchemist. I'm especially curious what I'll think of the 2003 series now I'm some 20 years older, having been a manga purist when it first came out.

I guess the Pac really is back. Unrelated, I've been watching @antdude.bsky.social 's videos again.

You can play Crisis Island at two events this year! First up is @vgeevents.bsky.social's Bristol Video Games Expo at the University of West England on 28th February. Then I'll be at @debugexpo.com's Debug Games Festival at the Norfolk Showground on 25th April! Come and give the demo a try.

My hair's gone a bit mad at the moment, very massive, really thick, quite curly, entirely unruly and impossible to tame. Usually, I just get it all chopped off when it reaches this point, but does anyone have any suggestions for what else I could do with it?

We watched the first four episodes of Tougen Aniki last night. It's teenagers at a school for oni where they learn to control their blood based powers. Feels very been there done that after Blue Exorcist, Jujutsu Kaisen etc, but it's serviceable as "another one of these" so far.

Aw yeah, we're in the editing booth! Expect a video on passive protagonists sometime this week.

I guess this is my 2026 media thread until I lose track of it.

I started 2026 by finishing Danganronpa's last case and watching the finale of Stranger Things.

Dangan's final trial exposited a lot! Well past the point of, "I get it!"

ST5's ending was fine? Nothing spectacular but enjoyable.

Here's the "corrected" footage in motion. What do we think?

And a 4x 1,280x960, again manually edited from the raw capture. What would you prefer to see in videos featuring N64 titles from the options so far?

For the purposes of being thorough and seeing what the result would be, here's the real hardware NTSC capture resized to be 1,440 x 1,080 (4:3). Should I just adjust / correct the raw NTSC capture or is that misrepresenting the game?
