Heart disease in women is far too often misdiagnosed or dismissed

A (not so) shocking 84% of female cardiologists surveyed reported treating women whose symptoms were ignored or misdiagnosed

This is disgraceful. Advocate for better awareness.

This account is for sharing info with US scientists, both extramural and intramural to NIH, about attacks on science in the US.

Education is power, and we can help advocate for science and medicine together. 💪🧪

We are a team of NIH people. Please ask us questions you might have.

Outstanding presentation by @santhikganesh.bsky.social to our UH Harrington HVI and FMDSA virtual support group: What the patient should know about FMD/SCAD genetics. Able to host 250 people from around the world. I appreciate her making complex genetic concepts accessible. Pardon rough images.

The era of precision therapy for inherited cardiovascular disease is here. To date, we had almost nothing to offer patients with severe inherited cardiomyopathy.

We are now on the verge of a new chapter with dozens of genetic-based therapies entering clinical trials.

At #AHA24, Dr. Nanette Wenger reminds us we’re all ‘standing on the shoulders of giants’ in healthcare. As we celebrate 100 years of Scientific Sessions, we honor the pioneers who paved the way and look ahead to a new century of innovation.

What a privilege to hear a talk from Dr. Bruce Beutler, Nobel Laureate, at #AHA2024 on defining innate immunity in human diseases using forward genetic approaches. Inspiring work from an incredibly accomplished physician-scientist.

Recently back from a lovely visit @Duke to support PRVH research and patient care, at our 3rd International PRVH Symposium hosted and led by @ColemanDM_vasc. Terrific to see all the progress for this rare disease since we first convened in 2019 in Ann Arbor, MI. #PCORI #HTN #FMD
