It must be a terrible fate for the bug to have fungi growing inside and sometimes controlling your body. It probably feels horrible. it's a good thing there aren't (yet) any that take over humans.

Interesting, I thought it was a Chrysomelid larvae, guess the next one i find will be traded to adulthood 😉

Well, this very odd creature is a beetle larvae, no idea what the spikes are for, probabyl to deter predators, but i always love to find bugs that look crazy like this one.
