I would really love to stop feeling like a failure. I know that the ultimate failure is to stop trying. But I feel like I'm too tired to even try that. And then I get stuck in this spiral of if I'd only tried harder before. I'm exhausted.

I've been playing Metaphor Re-Fantazio, because what better way to cope with the horrors of the world than by saving a fictional one?

Saw a headline today saying pretty much anything east of the Rockies is Tornado Alley now. These weather systems are wreaking havoc on me via migraines & anxiety, but I'm glad that, so far, the Appalachians have been decent tornado protection.

My boss has received some comments from bigots that the paint test patches I put on our windows might be a political statement 🙄 they were gradients from purple to blue to test the paint behavior. So now I have to be extra careful about not putting potential flags on the window.

What I wasn't expecting was my dad screenshotting a post from my mom, posting it, tagging her, & saying she can't be upset because she wasn't mad about said emails.
Should have expected it. Still a disappointment.

I really think it should bother more ppl that not only is generative AI built on theft AND a breeding ground for misinformation, but it ALSO uses insane amounts of energy to generate any response (particularly image generators)

Yesterday was terrifying due to three wildfires breaking out around me. All controlled and going out now, thankfully. Today, I feel better than I have in a long time, and I think it's due to spending two hours reading. The break in the real life horror is so important.

Woke up terrified of hurricane season. SOMEONE decided it was a good idea to fire a bunch of folks involved in weather prediction.
I was lucky the hurricane last year passed us over. At this rate, the only way to know if a deadly storm happened is a post from a shocked tourist in a decimated town.
