Turns out I hadn't cleaned all the glitter from Frost & Fog out of my pen grooves. You had it right.

When I had shingles and was lying awake in pain, one of the things I focused on was that my godkids and niblings got chickenpox vaccine rather than chickenpox, so they don't have varicella hanging around their bodies waiting to reactivate at the worst time of their life.

It sucked.

I'm having good luck with a large paperclip. I haven't needed to uncoil it so far.

I started my first go-round with Inkvent 25 days before Solstice, my actual holiday, and had no idea I would discombobulate a whole established community of people who were steadfastly waiting for December 1.

Gorgeous glass pen!

Inkvent days 5 and 6. After advent, I may play around with Marie Rose alongside other inks—by itself, it doesn't sing to me, though it could be good for making maps and prop documents for RPGs. Fir & Fog is my favorite fountain pen ink from the calendar so far, and maybe ever.

Inkvent days 3 and 4, playing with a glass dip pen in my laborious italic and scrawly handwriting. Carousel is a flagrant red I plan to use for marking up manuscripts when I need a little extra magic. Smoky Tobacco looks like the ink a sentient mushroom who was also a witch would use for spellwork.
