I don’t want to blue-state-splain to people who are stuck with terrible elected officials and are doing their best already. Who am I to talk? Through blind luck, I live in Jamie Raskin’s district. I still think boycotts are among the few tools that might help the broader situation, though.

Yes, that’s him all over. His staff, who have to field constituent calls and emails may be less so, or might manage him differently depending on how they read the room. And you can deplete his resources to some extent by making his staff spend time dealing with organized constituent opposition.

@danibananica.bsky.social @anymouse.bsky.social As residents in those states, you can exert pressure directly on your elected officials. The electeds in aggressor states don't have to care what outsiders think. The boycott is one of the few available tools from outside.

More states get into the game, possibly to make the pool of malefactors too big to boycott. They've underestimated us. To start with, #BoycottTexas, using the circulating list of Texas corporations. The next post in the thread I've quote-posted lists all the states signing onto this amicus brief.

respectfully move for leave to submit the attached amicus curiae brief in support of Defendants
and their opposition to Plaintiffs’ requested temporary restraining order and preliminary
injunction. Proposed amici are States with a vested interest in federalism, the relationship between
States and the federal government, and deploying the National Guard. We also each have a vital
interest in supporting the President and Congress in enacting and enforcing valid immigration
laws. Every State has a responsibility to protect our citizens.

Texas has sent their National Guard to attack Chicago. There is no excuse for trying to start a civil war. There is one thing for us to do, we must boycott Texas. Do not travel there, do not buy Texas products especially beef.

I've spent the last hour calling, emailing, and messaging the corps in this thread that would be affected by my personal boycott. They try to claim they have nothing to do with politics, but corps have lobbyists, and lobbyists talk to elected officials. This is what their lobbyists are for.

Let’s keep in mind Trump said he’s taking the war to the enemy within using US military. That means any protesters and pretty much all democrats or independents who voted against him. In fact voting against him could be considered an attempt to overthrow the current government.

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you give a list of the prescriptions you take to a federal government that has directly targeted people with chronic illness, mental illness, disability, autism, etc, with the eugenic language of elimination and stated outright they’re everything wrong with the country.
