In 2016, I worried that the US would soon be destroyed. So for the next eight years, I took my kids everywhere I could so they'd know their country firsthand. We drove in every direction to see things from all sides.

Our story is a book, and I hope you'll preorder: www.thelastamericanroadtrip.com

Or the best, if you're a corporate entity who doesn't want real-time attacks on Americans documented, searchable, and catalogued by time and place! 🙃

It's always been bad but now it's non-existent. I typed in "Trump" and "Dolly Parton", there are no results for any terms.

I've basically been using this site like an anthropologist in a field site since January, because I don't think its stated purpose is its real one. This is an interesting turn.

I seriously hope Biden saying “Welcome Home” and inviting Trump to sit by the fire is never forgotten.

One of the most singularly insane moments in the history of human civilization.

Did Bluesky nuke its search engine? I'd look this up to see if others are having the same experience, but, well, there's no working search engine now.

"There just isn’t enough time. There’s only what we manage to make of it—what we build, what we protect, what we remember to carry to the car. The gas mask. The snacks. The question we forgot to ask. The name of the person taken." My latest.

Read this book! The history and variety of the National Parks makes for marvelous reading.
sarahkendzior.bsky.social
National parks were the main places I wanted my kids to see, and I wrote about them in THE LAST AMERICAN ROAD TRIP. Breaks my heart that the book is coming out as Trump tries to make good on his plans to destroy them. I hope my book helps the effort to fight back. www.thelastamericanroadtrip.com

Officials also feign shock to avoid accountability. If they pretend they just learned about something bad, they can claim they weren't responsible for doing something about it. That's why the destruction of media has been a boon for them: people lost access to records of who knew what and when.

A someone who has written extensively about the eugenic roots that permeates those who claim to be building so-called artificial general intelligence, I'm here to tell you to please NOT compare criticism against corporations claiming to build a machine god, with eugenics. The audacity.
if you're writing a sentence that sounds like eugenics but you go "oh that's fine to say because it's not a real person" (whatever that means) you may want to consider what made you okay with saying that.

I've been largely offline for like a month for reasons too boring to mention. Who has a good primer on what I gather is Bluesky's slightly-sooner-than-expected heel turn?

seems like a good time to tap this sign, btw: bsky.app/profile/jami...

I remain deeply apprehensive about a social media platform that doesn't make it easy for users to 1) download a user-friendly archive of their own content and 2) mass-delete their own content.

I was suspicious because people would berate me for writing brief descriptions, and I'm like "one reason I write brief descriptions is because I have an actual vision impairment and they created a miniscule box where I can barely see the text." The hyperfocus on it was odd given its lack of utility.
sarahkendzior.bsky.social
So was training AI the actual reason for alt-text at BlueSky? I have no objection to alt-text as a means to help people with disabilities use online media. But BlueSky's tiny alt-text entry box is not easy for people with vision impairments to use. Helping people never seemed to be the point of it.

I don't even know what to say about @aaron.bsky.team announcing that actually they feed all images posted on Bsky into an AI that just a year ago they told everyone they had banned from using Bsky images

You're perfectly timed for THEY KNEW. My books hit mainstream popularity four years after I write them. VIEW was written in 2012-2014; got huge in 2016-2018. HIDING came out in 2020; was accepted as true in 2024. THEY KNEW was written in 2021 and published in 2022; now accepted as true in late 2025.

Re: the Epstein situation, as predicted by Sarah Kendzior in "They Knew", 2022.

The cover up has been bipartisan for quite some time.

Thanks be to those who are truly giving it a final Girl Scout try to bring it all to light, whatever is left to see.

there is no need to take tactical social movement advice from former fbi agents posting on social media
sarahkendzior.bsky.social
Wait, we yokels shouldn't be taking voting advice from the people who elected Eric Adams, Andrew Cuomo, Rudy Giuliani, Michael Bloomberg, George Santos, and Anthony Wiener and also birthed Donald Trump's rise to power? It turned out so great for them and for the whole country!

@sarahkendzior.bsky.social in "They Knew", with a 1985 example of how corrupt our media has been, & complicit with crime rings, for possibly forever.

The same media that allowed for the rise of Trump is harangued and vilified by him now.

Also hearts and minds may change when the truth of brutality emerges, but not policy. Polls show Americans' increasingly negative views of Israel after years of witnessing massacres of Palestinians, but that has not stopped Congress from funding genocide. Protests matter, but not to the shameless.

How many videos have you seen of protesters being brutalized? Pretending this imagery still changes the math the way you wish it would is an insult to the people whose bodies you would treat as props. Ghandi's era was more complex than many of you make out. This is not the 60s either. Things change.
asharangappa.bsky.social
We’re in a moment now where it would be worth people taking three hours to watch Gandhi, particularly the scene of the salt march. There is value to making the brutality of your opponent so plain as day that no one can argue with it. The clarity of that brought down an empire

Someone should ask what Miller was doing between 2021 and 2025, why David Horowitz recruited him to the foreign policy team of the Trump campaign, why the Democrats never followed through on their 2017 investigation of alleged lies on Miller's SF-86 clearance forms, but no one asks real questions
