LONG LIVE EVIL was the only book on both @nytimes.com 2024 Best of Fantasy and 2024 Best of Romance lists, with praise for both a ‘careening meta-fantasy delight’ and the

@fondalee.bsky.social on the “why fantasy” panel, telling us why she likes fantasy. She also said “it tells the truth by lowering the defenses”

Oh that’s so pretty from both of you.

Wow Sally Rooney. Fair play.

‘I feel obliged to state once more that… I too support Palestine Action. … If the British state considers this "terrorism", then perhaps it should investigate the shady organisations that continue to promote my work and fund my activities, such as WH Smith
and the BBC.’
ted.
In this context I feel obliged to state once more that - like the hundreds of protesters arrested last weekend - I too support Palestine Action. If this makes me a "supporter of terror" un-
der UK law, so be it. My books, at least for now, are still published in Britain, and are widely available in bookshops and even supermarkets. In recent years the UK's state broadcaster has also televised two fine adaptations of my novels, and therefore regularly pays me residual fees. I want to be clear that I intend to use these pro-ceeds of my work, as well as my public platform generally, to go on support-ing Palestine Action and direct action against genocide in whatever way I can. If the British state considers this
"terrorism", then perhaps it should investigate the shady organisations that continue to promote my work and fund my activities, such as WH Smith
and the BBC.

It was a delight and the Elliot Bay Book Co has such a great space!

Last event from this weekend, I promise - @sarahreesbrennan.bsky.social was kind enough to join me at the Elliott Bay Book Co, where we had far too much fun talking about villains and terrible research ideas. They've still got some signed copies if you stop by!

No surprise to me you were fighting valiantly! Are these people aware publishers also cancel series sometimes… is it our duty to meet the publisher in the skies at sunrise with blades drawn? I did not sign up for getting up early.

why thank you very much 🥰

I ran into @sarahreesbrennan.bsky.social who was so glad that I did. I forgot to tell her I recommended her book when talking about Isekai a few days earlier

I was so glad, and now I’m double glad!

Most readers are wonderful people who love stories and it was a joy to be with them this weekend. Those who do not think ‘would I be cool if someone spoke to me or a loved one of mine this way’ ruin what should be a time of getting to meet at last on a real bridge across the river of imagination.

I was in Seattle at #worldcon & glad the whole room booed. I am a big ASOIAF fan but also a person & so is George R.R. Martin (and clearly a person who loves Worldcon). Writers are people & that is no way to speak to a person. Before saying that shit, also consider: tomorrow is promised to no man.
boneysoups.bsky.social
breathtakingly horrible way to speak to anyone about their work and life. “welcome to seattle” shut the fuck up man!

Is all chaos with me as usual? I fear YES, but I am so excited to be in Seattle at @seattlein2025.org! So far I found a @seananmcguire.bsky.social & @hollyblack.bsky.social and an octopus drink.

My pleasure to spread both joy and sorrow! I mean, stories. Well, same thing.

I don’t know what I have to say but I hope it’s not too foolish. Sometimes I am!

I find this collation of quotes so inspiring, it’s exactly like (not to hit a sore point) when people were complaining about Wheel of Time, and their complaining drew the True Audience in. I wish to emulate you but probably instead of porn it’s the musical. 🤣

A collection of 1 and 2 star reviews:

"crazy, sexy" - 2 stars. there is a decent story but it is lost because of the decadent sex scenes. if you are into that, you will enjoy this book.

"stupidest book ever written" - 1 star. this was hunger games meets porn and it was just stupid... no thanks."

"hedonistic..." 2 stars - hedonistic dystopian porn saga. the characters are strange and endlessly horny. Nuff said.

For me (talking kdramas) Business Proposal was such a well-made but also light & delightful shot of joy. I loved others more (Lovely Runner & Extraordinary You, both HEAs) but was sometimes sad during them (which I like to be!). But if anyone’s searching for shot o’pure joy that’s my recommendation.
