Hi everyone o/ I finally managed to find my way here. I am Sarianne, concept artist and illustrator. Lately I've been experimenting with different styles... but I still love making art of dragons, sylvari, landscapes and awesome stories ✏️🎨

Dude I'm not even a NSFW artist and I think it in all its forms should have a place here because there is no way in hell some mod or 3rd party auto solution is gonna ever get it "right".

People can already curate their feeds and they have some moderation tools, who is all that stuff really harming

Art is supposed to sometimes be uncomfortable to the viewer. I don’t want to live in a world were we’re not allowed to explore difficult topics.

Once again, my #dragon #illustration for Dragon Calendar project. This year's theme were shiny rocks and gems. I picked amethyst (what a surprise🤭)

I doodle on my ways to and from work and this fella suddenly popped into existence. I have no idea who they are and what kind of story they have, but I know I like them and hopefully they will share their OC secrets with me 😉

Artists feel pressured to make new art too quickly at the moment. Normalise artists fucking disappearing for months. Just walk off into the woods for a year and come back with a single sketch. It’s good for you

Kurt Vonnegut’s definition of what makes something “art” is one of my favorites I’ve seen - from a letter to his brother in 1995.
People capable of loving some paintings or etchings or whatever can rarely do this without knowing something about the art-ist. Again, the situation is social rather than scientific. Any work of art is one halt of a conversation between two human beings, and it helps a lot to know who is talking at you. Does he or she have a reputation for seriousness, for sincerity? There are virtually no beloved or respected paintings made by persons of whom we know nothing. We can even surmise a lot about the lives of whoever did the paintings in the caves underneath Lascaux, France.
So I dare to suggest that no picture can attract serious attention without a human being attached to it in the viewer's mind. If you are unwilling to attach your name to your pictures, and to say why you hope others might find them rewarding to look at, there goes the ballgame right there. Pictures are famous for their human-ness and not their picture-ness.
There is also the matter of craftsmanship. Real picture lovers like to "play along," so to speak, to look closely at the surface to see how the illusion was created by nothing but an unusual human being, with hands and eyes. If you are unwilling to say how you made your pictures, there goes the ballgame a second time.
Good luck, and love as always

A very tiny comic with @sarianne.bsky.social's characters. One day Kylien got a small, cute and poofy owl griffon and named her Floof. He fed her well and kept her happy. And Floof grew. And grew. And grew…
#gw2 #GuildWars2
A two frame comic. In the first frame a plant person with a small owl on his shoulder is being offered a baby owl griffon, with the words "Good sir! I'm sure you would love this beautiful small owlet!". In the second frame the same plant guy is standing angry with the hands on hips, with a huge owl griffon easily thrice his size behind him, asking "Where's the guy who sold me a 'small owlet' last year?"

I was adventurous and repainted one of the spicy mothman sketches with acrylic markers 🎨 I forgot how difficult it is to not have undo button 😅

Is there better time to start with making and posting NSFW art than this one? I am tired, sad, angry.... and making these was relaxing and fun. Have some monsters and humans having good time 💕

Hi! I'm kinixuki and I draw things, mostly with my own OCs. I took a bit of a break from socials for a while, let's see how it goes now.

I thought this was a cool question regarding why I moved away from realism in my style.
Ask me anything!
I've seen your realistic art, and it is very competent. What pushed you towards a more naieve style?

Oh man, this is a really cool and interesting question! It is hard to answer, but I'll try.

Often, your values change as your skill grows. What you thought was impressive before, becomes less interesting. You start to see the value and skill required to make things you had overlooked previously. Naieve (for lack of a better word) styles can often be harder than realism, because they require interpretation and abstraction. Realism always has a perfect reference point.

Abstraction requires interpretation of the reference point.

Realism was once a goal of mine. I then met that goal, and realized I didn't find it fulfilling. Realism can be plenty creative, but it wasn't scratching the creative itch I had. The characters I wanted to depict weren't well suited for realism. I wanted to do something bigger, stranger and more specific.

With special thanks to all my friends whose advice made it a much better piece than I could make alone.

One of our slides from the Whatever it Takes panel. We wanted to be sure any of the devs who worked on DA past & present knew we (at least) appreciate the hard work to make Thedas a world we all loved roaming in.

#ThankYouBioware
Dragon Age promo shot with white text in black bubbles. It says:

Thank you Bioware

We wanted to take a moment to thank the devs who brought us into Thedas over the course of four games, almost twenty years and a lot of emotions to go with it.

As fans, we appreciate the hard work that has gone into creating a rich, beautiful, deadly, and sometimes gross world for us to roam free in.

We don't know what's in store for Thedas going forward but we wanted to thank the devs who sunk their heart, soul, blood and tears into creaing a fantasy that brought many of us together.

Felt like drawing for the first time in ages. This is Ulsien, a main character from the story I’m currently writing.

Some weird merfellas. I wanted to experiment a bit with designs and went with horseshoe crab, arctic scale worm and oarfish.

"Shapeshifters forms"
Happy accident of two separate sketches merging into one visual story piece. Biblically accurate angel and shapeshifting merfolk of my liminal pools story. Is the upper form their primal shape or something they aspire to be?
