And now, a note on Bill Owens who, until this past week, was the executive producer of 60 Minutes.

We’ll be back next week with another edition of 60 Minutes.

(Also, for those who are not clear on my tone: I think it's fabulous Ms. Yarros is doing so well. Her books bring people to stores, where they will pick up other books, and while they are waiting for the next book from her they will read other stuff. Blockbuster books are good for everyone, y'all)

Just note the Democrats could do everything in their power and still fail to stop the fascist administrative coup. I'd still like them to actually DO THAT, though.

The last few years have been hard, so I’ve made a concerted effort to reach out to all the artists/musicians/writers who have made things easier and thank them for their art. Sometimes I get a reply, most times I don’t, but I hope the small bits of positivity make them happy.

Petty revenge scenario: to the girl who stole my fuzzy snap bracelet in high school drama class (I know who you are), I wish you the inescapable need to cut your own bangs and the instant regret that comes with it

Petty revenge scenarios: to the teens who threw half a pickle at my shirt from a car while I was waiting for the bus in 2002, I wish none of you will ever pick a good watermelon

There was a guy in my high school named Aaron Beanie. He ordering a sandwich on the class phone during algebra. He ran around with a fire extinguisher, asking where the fire was during the fire drill. One of those epic people that feels like a movie character. Hope he ended up somewhere awesome.

I think I’ll start a series on petty revenge scenarios: to the girl in my musical theatre group who laughed at 12 yr old me for calling concealer “erase” because that’s what my hippie mother called it, I wish you dissatisfying snail face masks.

My mom told me when she lived in the empty vats of the Hamm’s Brewery in the 70’s there was a dude living in one who would meditate while eating single grains of uncooked rice, one by one, with chopsticks. Must of done a number on his digestive system.

In middle school I wrote the full name of my crush in a heart in my social studies book, then totally forget and let him borrow it. He laughed, showed it to friends who laughed. I’m not big on revenge, but I hope as an adult he lost everything to day trading.

3/3 We visited him one last time in the hospital, I gave him some Mexican jumping beans. I was told I couldn’t be rough with him, he couldn’t leave the bed. As the generation of children who grew up in SF during the beginning of the AIDS epidemic I am so fucking happy to read this headline.
2/3 We played with green army soldiers, and stretch Armstrong, we rough housed in the hallway and did races back and forth. About a year later my family moved away and didn’t really keep in touch with his family.
1/3 In 1989 when lived in some apartments on Valencia Street in the Mission, right next to the projects, and there is a family across the hall from us whose little boy was about my age. He had HIV.

After nearly three decades, a Minnesota summer camp for kids with HIV/AIDS is closing and up for sale... because retroviral drugs are so effective that there aren't enough campers.

Science works, y'all.

Getting to those numbers would require something along the lines of ~$215M a year in subscription revenues for Substack. Currently, Substack takes a 10% cut of subscription prices from writers on its platform. So, uhhh... they'd need $2.9 *billion* in reader-paid subs. (Counting payment fees.)
