What we don't talk about enough is the dignity harm suffered by women who have to share the public sphere with guys who go around talking about our bodies like we're a public resource whose use and distribution they're qualified to determine.

I am lucky that I spent a year in therapy teaching myself how to just stop thinking about things I can’t control and cope so that now that stuff is happening it’s almost automatic. But like the sad still sinks in from time to time.

So the American taxpayer eats it twice, once on tariffs and again on a second farm bailout. I’m glad farmers are getting help, no one should lose their farm, but it’s remarkable how fast “socialism” stops being a dirty word when the checks clear in red counties.
