5. My favorite children's poetry book is Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein. I think I was 10 when my teacher read it to the class.

4. Not actually a children's book series, but when we are walking together and I can name every mammal, bird, and tree we pass, now you know why. I spent hours and hours reading field guides, over and over again.

In my novel, the characters had to leave their Great Dane alone for 48 hours. I imagine their home is a disaster area. I googled Great Dane left alone for 48 hours, hoping for photos of destroyed apartments. Instead, the AI replied and told me to never do that again because it was a form of animal neglect and illegal. ... I was trying to find a place to reply to it, "But I am a werewolf and it was too dangerous for him to come with us."

I've been listening to the stories about the ESCALATOR of DOOM! all day. I get home and catch a clip of it. The escalator stops with them just a couple steps up. Please tell me why they didn't just turn around and take the second UP escalator ...Right next to the stopped one?

It was at that moment that I could have turned away, should have turned away. As I sat there in the mobile home, perched upon the velvety couch, I could feel the trap slowly closing around me, even as I considered her words. A venus flytrap rather than a bear trap, something subtly beautiful and just fast enough to lull you into believing you were safe. Then you were locked in and digested slowly. Whenever I replay this in my mind, I pretend I turn her down. I can still feel myself wanting to say, “No, never mind, I’ll help someone else.” But I wasn’t actually there for Morgana or my favor, I was there for Warton. You don’t disappoint an alpha, you can’t. “What do you need, Feralclaw?” I asked. The proverbial bells tolled. [The chapter breaks with a black wolf footprint in the center of the page]

This year's Donor's Choose is a quest for robots. I have a small class and average only two students at a time. I'm hoping to raise enough funds for four Ozobots to cap off my computer programming work.

I've been quietly #writing on a refurbished Chromebook. It's so old and slow, I can ONLY write on it. Believe me, this is a good thing. Nearing the finale of the #werewolf novel, only about 20K words-ish left, unless the characters go rogue on me. (It's been known to happen.)

“We will wait for your food,” the Priest said, falling silent. The barista soon delivered a small white cup to the Priest and quickly retreated. Darius watched the Priest as long, thin fingers picked up a small spoon and stirred in a packet of sugar. Lifting the cup, they sipped at the dark liquid. Darius continued to frown. Pale eyes studied her unapologetically over the white cup as the Priest took a second sip. An egg sandwich and orange juice appeared in front of Darius, and she looked away from the Priest to thank the barista, who nodded with a sympathetic smile in return.

While walking the dogs this morning, I was gifted a flock of glossy ibis. They circled overhead a few times, coming in very close, then landed a few meters away and foraged a bit before taking off. They're a known, but rare, species here in the Great Salt Lake area.

The day of the full moon passed in a lazy haze. Mike implored his family to pray with him, and they howled quietly in the late afternoon, welcoming the Mistress to the sky as the sun set. They would kill first, the blood of their prey given to the Mistress in thanks for their power. Then, they would return to the home. The four wolves left Cab behind and spread out to hunt for small game. Finn and Milia quickly brought down a couple of fat doves, and returned to the den before Mike and Andrea appeared with their own small birds.

Milia stood silent, trying to envision a route from her home to the center of the city. It’d take a couple of hours to walk there, she decided, but she would be there before it closed for the evening if she left now. She hurried to the back door and slid open the glass, calling silently for Cab before shouting his name. “Cab, come!” The Great Dane raised his head and stared at her, sending out a lazy wave of disinterest. “Now,” she said. The old dog huffed and put his head back down. “I need to go into town, and you can’t stay out in the yard alone,” Milia explained. “Come.” Slipping on her shoes, she hurried out and grabbed the dog’s collar. Reluctantly, Cab stood and followed her into the house. As the sliding door closed, he padded toward her room, where his bed could be found. She left, sending him a wave of love, locking the door behind her and glancing up and down the street before she started off toward downtown.

Several minutes of silent tableau passed before a third wolf appeared, another young tough, darker than the two roadblocks. “Morgana will see you, Wolf,” he said. Milia nodded curtly and pushed past the two blonds. They let her go, reluctantly, and she had to shove them with her shoulder. The one to the right grunted under his breath. They spun to watch her as she walked by, and she made a point to try meeting their eyes once more, forcing them to look away, before turning to follow the third tough.
