Dad always lifts his tubers and stores them over winter, then takes cuttings before replanting them, as he moves them - there's a few in the borders but mostly they get a couple of rows in between rows of veg. In between leeks this year...

A fine evening with Nicola Sturgeon, funny and introspective and lots of great moments which sparked applause. I am, inevitably, waiting for the paperback (by the time it comes out I might have time to read it!), but it's going to be worth a read. As is the possible political thriller novel 😂

Day off yesterday. Read two books for A Thing and started a third. Made minestrone soup (everything from the garden except the celery!) and turned a handful of tiny onions and a panful of beetroot into pickles. Books and growing veggies and cooking iz me.

I've not seen turnout figures but I suspect they'll be terrible. Meanwhile in Northumberland, the picture is wildly depressing: longstanding Tories plus R political novices doesn't fill me with confidence.
