Performance related pay for MPs would be much more effective: if you're shit at your job you get basic salary (London living wage, perhaps); if you're good at it you get bonuses. Criteria to be determined by voters, not MPs...

Well, if London and the UK don't get to grips with climate change then there might be a new ice age and penguins in the Thames. But in the meantime perhaps some realism and sanity might be useful...

All parties bar the SNP have since devolution suffered to greater or lesser extent from being a branch office, but Sarwar is really taking it to extremes - and is getting the hiding in the polls he so richly deserves. Without a decent Labour govt in Westminster he hasn't a hope in hell.

Also standard London media not bothering to think about there being other parts of the UK. Looking at how things interact when two legal systems, not just two police forces, are involved would be useful but I suspect no-one in govt has remembered that fact...

Mayor/governor have talked about it. And ofc DT has threatened it. What happens if/when that happens will be interesting; will they actually back up the police and support communities or will they be Ice in a different uniform...

It won't be, I'm sure, which is terrifying. This guy was unarmed, on the ground and shot ten times in the back. Wtaf?? MN chief of police is insisting his force investigates but I doubt they'll be allowed to. And not a single spine found by the Dems in Congress to stop this illegal action.
