Are you a woman who changed your name when you got married?

Congress is considering a bill that could make it much harder for you to vote.

Call your rep—this is not a drill. indivisible.org/resource/cal...

This is big: House Republicans tucked language into the budget res “rule” that bans the House from voting to terminate Trump’s emergency declaration used to impose tariffs. TL;DR lawmakers who vote for this are officially giving up their power to revoke his tariffs until October.

Economist Brent Neiman explains the idiocy of Trump's tariffs formula.

First, the idea that a trade imbalance deserves tariffs:

"The Nobel laureate Robert Solow explained why when he quipped, “I have a chronic deficit with my barber, who doesn’t buy a darned thing from me.” "

I’m old enough to remember when I took out a full-page ad in the New York Times last fall to publish a letter signed by 225 mental-health professionals saying that Trump’s severe personality disorders made him destructive and dangerous.

I hate Republicans. They are everything that is wrong with our country. Everything. Democrats do nothing. Let's burn it to the ground, abolish the two party system and start again. And delete MAGA.

One of Trump's first achievements is that he has unchained Germany as a geopolitical actor. The only thing that the U.S. and Russia ever agreed on was to defeat and neutralize German sovereignty. Now that has be undone. Will be interesting to see what follows. Glad to be in Germany's corner...
The Bundestag’s top intelligence experts are calling for a European spy network, warning that Europe can’t rely on intelligence from the United States amid growing uncertainty.

Senior German lawmakers sound alarm bells that a sudden cutoff could leave Europe dangerously exposed.

Senators are asking the DC Office of Disciplinary Counsel to look into the torrent of abnormal and rule-shattering statements Jan. 6 organizer Ed Martin has issued since Trump gave the conservative activist his first-ever prosecutorial job: DC US Attorney.

Last night was basically what we have seen before, except this time the GOP lacks anyone willing to do anything but dutifully stand and clap like its Kim Jung Un’s birthday.

This is not law. It couldn’t withstand legal scrutiny.

Don’t comply in advance university presidents. General counsel, don’t panic. Do law, not vibes.
Real question. What is an “illegal protest”? Real question. He was convicted of a crime. Why hasn’t he been expelled?

It took seeing adult bullies to understand that my childhood bullies didn’t even really want to hurt me, they just wanted to feel powerful and how I felt about it wasn’t even in the equation.

I can’t imagine someone not outgrowing that, but apparently it happens quite a lot!
