The lesson of history is that tyrants cannot be appeased.

Appeasement only feeds their insatiable hunger for power.

Tyrants prey on people who feel unsafe and vulnerable.

But without mass submission, a tyrant is powerless.

Remember this.

Last year our field trip to the legendary Wytham Woods was marked by heavy rain. This year it was raining...ladybirds! 🐞☔

Reasonable numbers of 7-spot and 10-spot ladybirds heading for overwintering sites, though both swamped by an extraordinary abundance of Harlequins. @ukladybirds.bsky.social

A better world is possible
According to the City of Paris, in the last 10 years 150K trees have been planted & 45ha of parks created in the already hot city, all intended to not only improve quality-of-life today, but also help the city adapt to & manage summer heatwaves of 50℃ (122F) by 2050.

Just the start.

Common sense.

This is the best advice for how to be better at ANYTHING in TTRPGs. Be a fan of the other people and their roles. Love the other PCs. Admire the DM and get excited for their work. Geek out over the stuff your friends at the table are doing and want them to be happy!

Everything else will work out.
RPG tip: Be the characters' biggest fan.

I’m always thinking about a deluxe version of DND bugs with more classes, and after a long time of chaos and intense work among shows I’ve finally got some time to finish it! Which one would you choose? 💚🐛🐞🐝🪲

My inspiration for wanting to be an ecologist was Aragorn (yes LOTR). When I first read the books, I was fascinated that he just KNEW what all the plants were and how to use them for battlefield medicine. I wanted that skill. I'm nowhere close but a little more every day.
Hey, artists, in case you were wondering if your work matters: I'm a scientist working on climate change and biodiversity, and I would not be who I am today without The Lorax, The Secret of NIMH, Watership Down, The Last Unicorn, and The X-Files. I know I'm not alone. Thank you for all you do.
