I turned 54 today. This week, I had a productive psychologist appointment and started an antidepressant for the first time in 20 years. The news is tidal wave after tidal wave of shit. Terrifying moment to be a parent, a person. But I would just as soon stick around and see what I can do about it.

Just letting unread messages from various opt-in subscriptions and vendors I've failed to mark as spam (just in case the next email has the end-all-be-all coupon, I guess) grow like kudzu over my Gmail accounts as a pre-summer treat.

I love dashes so much that I can get around writer's block just by reminding myself that I'll be able to em it up all I want. (OK, not really, but it's a nice thought.) When dummies start suggesting that using the en dash correctly is an AI tell is when I'll get *really* mad.
I think that it’s extreme bullshit, and I think that knuckling under and pretending it’s valid is also extreme bullshit. Writers use dashes.

The paradox of seeing more beauty in the world because I have a 5-year-old daughter but feeling more fear about the world because I have a 5-year-old daughter. Maybe parents of every moment have dealt (better?) with this.
