RIP to Diane Keaton. Not only a woman who made extraordinary films but someone who always seemed to be exactly herself, and to be enjoying the experience very much.

There are so many Diane Keaton performances to remember, but a lot of people haven't seen Reds, and A) my God, see it, it is a masterpiece and B) her performance as Louise Bryant is one of the bravest, toughest, least sympathy-courting pieces of work by an American actress in the last 50 years.

THAT director aside, Diane Keaton’s performance in Annie Hall opened spaces for women in film: what romantic leads could look like, dress like, sound like; that there could be a place for an oddball who wasn’t a screwball. That’s all her - Keaton was such a brilliant actress and icon, truly

I know we're not supposed to talk about Woody Allen, but ANNIE HALL is one of the supreme American movies & Diane Keaton's wild charisma is 90% of the reason why. And btw her performance of "Seems Like Old Times" is pure magic—up there with the greatest musical scenes in cinema, zero doubt

I mean, it wasn't funny in the moment because he'd worked himself into a rage, but admittedly this is maybe the last venue in London I'd expect to see something like that

As someone who has been told exactly this by strangers, you did good work. The last time it happened I was with my aunt and uncle in a restaurant in west London and someone their age came over and told us our accents were annoying and my uncle had to hold me back from escalating

HAMNET is another new movie that has “This film may not be used to train AI” in its credits. Interesting to see this kind of thing from smaller films and larger films alike (Hamnet has Universal distribution.)

On the other hand, the one time I was seated in the pit in the Royal Albert Hall a member of the audience climbed the stage and took a swing at a security guard because he was unhappy with the sound quality; security managed to bundle him out without most people noticing but that was quite a thing
