IME though, that's typically just the same thing one step removed: when you talk about other ways it could have been done, it usually turns out there's *no* version they wouldn't "just have a problem with the execution" about. But they know it sounds better than "I just don't want this!"

Honestly a little surprised they haven't tried it; on the other hand, I'd hoped that the explosion of reasonable on-sprue figure kits (e.g. Blokees) would see some manufacturing improvement there too, and nothing. Imagine snap-fit articulated T'au kits with solid Gundam-style poseability...

GenAI being fundamentally based on a rejection of consent is obvious, but it's not as obvious that it destroys the inhibitions of the people who already reject consent.

It makes them act in public the way they used to only act when cornering their employees by the punch bowl or in their office

Sealioning is about repeatedly asking seemingly-polite questions in bad faith - the aim being to try to catch you out and/or tie you up in constantly explaining yourself. And if you get angry or call them out, they'll then pretend to be the reasonable victim, attacked "just for asking questions".

Algorithm picked up people watching Spinister's video for his connection to Carnivac via Mayhem?

Ah interesting, they really are "a random selection" then? (Or at least, more than one possible set.) Or is it a fixed set drawn from the Defender series, but in a random order?

I prefer 'opportunistic hypocrisy', but tomayto tomahto.

I'd believe that, especially since this Nickel just looks... unfinished, with plastic colour and paint apps that don't really fit the style of the figure she's paired with imo.

Wish I could help! Seems like there should be something that could be done with blur / erosion over the alpha channel followed by translate & mix, but I'm very much a layman.

If you ever get to the point of writing it up, I'd love to read it!

Not as straightforward as an inner shadow on the silhouette, set to directly vertical and adding a light blue colour over the ship?

I love the look you've achieved with this shader btw - not usually a fan of 3D-to-2D but this looks great. Have you written about it in more detail anywhere?

"My child was perfect and has been replaced by a changeling baby," but in the year 2025.
some significant part of this is just catch-all fear for “this is not the child I ordered” I think
