This is more doable than you'd think, and it doesn't have to be a media thing. Save your defunct bowling league, run for one of New Hampshire's 900 State House seats, revive a dogshit museum. Be open about what you don't know and call friends who do. It's fun, it's good for you, and it's the future.
Since posting is praxis, I'm now fully inspired by @bencollins.bsky.social to try to buy an abused media property and convert it into an employee-run nonprofit. There's plenty to choose from and I'm tired of cooling my heels and soaking in burnout while I wait to hear back about jobs I don't want
