Another brilliant evening at #TheCube in #Bristol. And that #Godzilla fellow is such a good bloke, we can surely forgive him the odd skyscraper or railway train.

They call them corpse roads, coffin paths. They call them wraith ways, lych lanes. Routes carved into the land by those grief-heavy feet coming from outlying places to distant churches for burial. Death as procession, death as ritual journey. A haunted hodology. – Dr. M. Benn

#Madonna remixes are always interesting and often brilliant. Would like to know the process(es). Does she say: get on with it/do your thing, or perhaps: I’d like this, this and this please? Or something else? Whatever, the results are usually terrific.

Never mind upcoming #Beatles films, someone should make one on this lot: how #SimonDupree didn’t exist, they hated their big hit, the Chinese actress who couldn’t speak Chinese, making a record as The Monks (which was thought was the Beatles), #EltonJohn & #DudleyMoore played piano for them, etc..

I’ve just read this, by #RichardBrautighan (1935-84): a 7/10, but not as good as ‘In Watermelon Sugar’ (1968); but much better than Sombrero Fallout’ (1976).

(Little) Solsbury Hill - as in the #PeterGabriel song - and Crossleaze Studios, in that very hilly area just north of #Bath, which the #CotswoldWay passes through, West of the A46 and East of Lansdown Hill. An area of undulating single-track roads which feels very remote, despite nearby Bath.

Has #JackieDeShannon written her memoirs? She definitely should do.

I listened to All of Paul's wonderful episodes in the studio yesterday. His voice is wonderful, his words capture the spirit of a place & his last episode about Sycamore Gap made my eyes water.
Responding, with thanks, with my painting The Aerial Horse.

There are two routes through #WimborneMinster on the #StourValleyWay, the Northern route through the town, and the Southern route through the water meadows. They can be combined to make an excellent 4 mile circular walk. #Dorset

#BlackGrape at #Bristol #Electric last night. Great band, wonderful music…but #ShaunRyder barely took his eyes off Kermit all night. He even seemed to be singing to him rather than the audience; the body language was odd.

The Goring Gap from Lardon Chase is a spectacular view of Streatley and Goring on Thames, which are picturesque villages on the borders of Berkshire and Oxfordshire.
The River Thames runs through the valley on its way to London and cuts between the Berkshire Downs and the Chilterns.
Oil on board.

#WilliamBurroughs in ‘Naked Lunch’ mode. Oddly compelling, but his desire to shock seems a touch sad; no doubt it was more potent in 1961. At least a great band was - presumably - partly inspired by this one.
