Scale AI’s CEO states DeepSeek rivals or matches the top AI models from American companies. Trained for just $6M (10-100x cheaper than big tech models), it runs on older chips due to chip bans and is open source.

This is a paradigm shift and makes $500B spend on Project Stargate feel misguided.
Scale AI CEO says China has quickly caught the U.S. with the DeepSeek open-source model
Alexandr Wang, CEO of Scale AI, said Thursday that the AI race between the U.S. and China is an "AI war."

The most successful piece of American propaganda that people mindlessly parrot is that TikTok is some special Intel-harvesting app that's extracting information that Meta somehow can't.

When in reality, it's just the only major entertainment platform that the U.S. doesn't control.
If TiKTok wasn’t a benefit for Chinese intel, they would sell.

They could make a killing. But it’s not about the money

Why I am fine with Eat the Rich:

Jeff Bezos announcing that he's marrying his next wife, Lauren Sanchez, in a lavish $600m ceremony. They live in Florida. $600m would cover 2 years of FL k-12 free lunch programs. Last year the state discontinued the office that helped schools file for free lunches.

The smarter MAGAs are showing up trying to disrupt organizing and conversation by wanting "rational debate" or "to be heard out" yeah, you don't owe them any of that.
