Oregon National Guard Adjutant General, General Gronewold says if they are federalized, that he will advise the Title 10 commander to utilize National Guard Troops to PROTECT protesters at ICE facilities. This is the right answer.

In a strange way, it helps to look at the countries all over the world that either never had it as good as we did or just haven't for a long time. They found a way to go on & live their lives. Also many of them are emerging from that darkness now.

I just wish there was teletype I could watch like at the end of "All the President's Men".

I feel like this photo of masked, armed men pepper spraying a pastor protecting his community is going to be a defining picture of this moment in America for a long, long time.

Republicans are like stupid short sighted criminals you see on the news who thought they could just burn down their business for the insurance money or kill their ex or their boss or rob a liquor store & all their problems would be solved. They didn't give 5 seconds thought to "What comes next"?

Um, ICE just coldly shot an unarmed PRIEST in the head w a pepper ball when he (and everyone around him) clearly posed no threat.

For the crime of … complaining about government policy.

Core 1A speech.

With cameras rolling, they’re sniping priests for sport.

Republicans need to embrace the concept of a "rebuilding year". Ditch Trump & expect to lose a lot for awhile as they get their heads straight.

Pam Bondi admits she spoke to Apple to "get the ICEBlock app taken down." Sounds an awful lot like coercion to suppress disfavored speech to me. A clear violation of the 1st Amendment.

Bondi claims that the ICEBlock app was "criminal in that people were posting where ICE officers lived"

I grew up going to Zabar's. So many of my childhood memories center around the best lox in NYC (which is saying something). With Saul Zabar's passing today, the Upper West Side has lost a legend who turned his parent's humble store into a culinary institution.

It's been two weeks since Adelita Grijalva was elected and Mike Johnson has still refused to seat her, unlike in past cases where he swore in new members within 24 hours.

There cannot be one set of rules for Rs and another for Ds.

Also, release the damn Epstein files already.

RAJU: You swore in 2 GOP members during pro forma session. Why not swear in Grijalva? Does it have to do w/her signature on Epstein petition?

JOHNSON: It has nothing to do with that. We'll swear her in when everybody is back

R: Why not now?

J: Uh - we'll schedule it, I guess, as soon as she wants

Kinda interesting how Bluesky is competitive with Threads despite having far fewer users.

I heard that a federal judge could swear her in?

This is Adelita Grijalva.

She was elected to Congress two weeks ago, officially making her the final vote needed to force the release of the Epstein files.

She has still not been sworn in because Mike Johnson refuses to do so.

Actually if she wasn't worried about consequences, she'd admit everything she's accused of & say "Damn right I did it & fuck you if you don't like it". She fears admitting the truth.

Sen. PADILLA: This Justice Department fired a 15-year career prosecutor who put away sex traffickers and transnational terrorists. She was marched out of her office. Why? Because she had the audacity to remind Border Patrol that it should follow court orders.

I'm on the record saying that Russ Vought will do things during the shutdown that will make his illegal rescissions visible in the way they otherwise weren't. And boy howdy, threatening to ignore the law on backpay is a great example. [corrected]
Shaheen, a retiring Dem Rs are looking to flip on shutdown, says of OMB threats on back pay:

“It would be a lot easier to resolve the situation if Russ Vought would stop talking.”

Murray: "If House Republicans were here, I'd make sure they understood over 3/4 of the families on the exchanges actually live in R states. And I'd make sure they understand the 10 states where families will face biggest average premium increase hikes when the ACA credits expire are all R states."

Sadly the 25th Amendment requires the VP & a majority of his cabinet to declare him incapable of discharging his duties. Not likely.

Think about this: at nearly the same time, Pam Bondi was refusing to answer whether the FBI had images of Trump and young girls obtained from Jeffrey Epstein’s safe, and Mike Johnson was refusing to answer when he would swear in Adelita Grijalva, who would be the 218th vote for the Epstein petition.
