My artbook, The World Needs Love Stuff #3, just went up! There's... hold on, there's math involved... 129 pages of artwork, around 300ish individual drawings from the past two years! All for $10! This was done with zero hinges and absolute love.

Above all of those memories was the boy.

Floating trees and feather grass and swirling colors and the boy.

It was a simple world. Safe. Quiet and patient. The boy didn’t avoid him on bad days, just existed with kindness. Kept up with him on good days, as good as days could be back then. If Ed wanted to climb a tree, the boy followed, golden hair bouncing as he shifted from branch to branch. If Ed wanted to wade in the shallow stream, the boy hopped right in, hazel eyes sparkling with joyful mischief. They never spoke, but they never needed to. Ed always knew where to find him, and the boy always knew who Ed was. He watched Ed like Ed was interesting, like a curious mystery to solve, and Ed worried he might actually do it. Figure him out. Find his secrets. He felt too exposed sometimes. He didn’t feel exposed enough.

Here! Various versions in case anyone prefers one format over others. I used 32ct linen, 2x2 for the crosses, 1 strand for backstitch, but in hindsight kinda wish I used sewing thread for the backstitch for a finer outline at this tiny scale? The floss looks ok though!

Ed ambled towards him, hips swaying ever so slightly. He was wearing white linen pants that hugged close to his hips and trailed down into wide legs that seemed to float around him. His shirt was also a soft white linen, with delicate purple embroidered roses running vertically alongside the buttons. The top three buttons were undone, displaying a beautiful hawk tattoo at the base of his throat. He had rolled up the sleeves, revealing more tattoos along his forearms. His hair was swept up into a low, messy bun, still slightly damp, and there were those beautiful loose strands again, framing his face. They made Stede’s fingers itch with the desire to touch.

Ed held his arms out wide and gave a little bow.
