This isn't to say *no one* cares. There are other officers who do and I haven't conducted a formal survey. It's just not as much of a hot topic as you'd think.

Journalists and congressional staff have asked me what MPD officers think of the federalization shenanigans in DC.

If you are reading this, you are an outlier in terms of civic attentiveness. 1/3rd of Americans didn't vote last election. Most officers don't care. Apathy is the slow death of the US.

BESSENT: It's a talking point. They're making up excuses. I think that this is an opportunity. President Trump in the first nine months now has been unstoppable.
