FIVE FAILED VOTES.

Senate Republicans do not have the votes to pass their bill.

They need to come to the table and negotiate now to reopen the government and bring down healthcare costs.

They’re the only ones who seem to think we can’t do both.

Let me be clear: backpay for these workers is required under a federal law I wrote with former Senator Cardin — which Trump signed — during the last Trump shutdown.

This is just more fear mongering from a president who wants a blank check for lawlessness. It won't work.

The text of the law is clear. This is totally illegal.

This is another illegitimate attempt by Russ Vought to “traumatize” hardworking civil servants, which seems to be what gets him out of bed in the morning.

Americans are united in wanting lower prices. We have an opportunity to help make that happen RIGHT NOW by passing a bill to reopen the government and prevent marketplace premiums from exploding.

A new KFF study shows that over 20 million Americans will have their ACA health care premiums MORE THAN DOUBLE because of the Republicans’ Big, Ugly BETRAYAL.

Instead of fixing the health care crisis THEY CREATED, Republicans shut down the government.

Trump is failing at the one thing he was elected to do: lower costs.

He’s even shut down the government rather than negotiate with Democrats who have a solution to prevent over 20 million Americans from getting a huge increase in their health insurance costs.

Republicans have literally spent the last FIFTEEN YEARS fighting to overturn, weaken, and undermine the Affordable Care Act.

Republicans just don’t care if you have to pay more for your health care.

Check this out: A CT couple in their 50s with a college age child making $50,000 will see their monthly insurance premium increase over 200%.

2025: $73
2026: $250

Democrats are fighting to protect millions of Americans from these skyrocketing health care costs.

Here’s what it all comes down to: Republicans shut down the government to avoid fixing the health care crisis THEY created.

If you’re dropped by your provider or your health insurance bill skyrockets, thank a Republican.

Republicans would rather keep the government shut down than roll back their cuts that will kick 15 MILLION people off their health care.

For the good of the country, Republican leaders need to start engaging in basic bipartisanship to end the Republican-created health care cost crisis and the widespread misery of this Trump shutdown.

Why are Republicans keeping the government shut down when the solution is so simple?

Pass Democrats’ plan to restore ACA tax credits and prevent millions of hardworking families from receiving a massive increase in their health insurance costs.

Trump and Republicans are making people sicker and poorer. They shut down the government and will grind the economy to a halt because they don’t want to fix the health care crisis THEY created.

Democrats put forth two straightforward proposals: reverse attacks on health care and require the President to FOLLOW THE LAW and implement funding bills as written.

Republicans chose to shut down the government.

Republicans are raising the cost of YOUR health care.
Republicans are exploding the price of YOUR utility bills.

And Republicans shut down the government and will grind the economy to a halt to avoid fixing the mess THEY made.

Virginians want prices to come down, not go up. I'm going to keep fighting for a deal that prevents marketplace health care premiums from going up by more than double.

Guess how many times Republicans have tried to negotiate with Democrats to save health care? None. Zero. Not once.

As a small business owner in WA state, Stacya should be able to get health care for herself that doesn't bankrupt her.

I don't know who Republicans are talking to, but they need to WAKE UP.

We have to save the ACA tax credits, and we need to do it ASAP.

Trump signed the bill that kicks 15 MILLION Americans off their health care and raises the cost of your private health insurance plans.

He owns this health care crisis, and he owns this shutdown by refusing to address it.

It's sick, but not surprising, that Trump is trying to hurt people using his shutdown as a pretext for more mass firings.

He's trying to hurt people, Democrats are trying to help people by reopening government and saving their health care.

I know the people are on our side.

Can you and your family afford to pay double or even triple the price for health insurance? Trump and Republicans have let the government shut down instead of lowering the cost for American families.

We shouldn't rip away health care from millions of people.

We shouldn't take an already broken, creaky health care system and smash it to the ground.

But that’s what Republicans are doing.

Democrats are working to bring down costs and fix Republicans’ health care crisis.
