“Someone” cancelled my family’s flight out of the country at the last second.

We got our boarding passes. We checked our bags. Went through security. Then at our gate our reservation ‘disappeared.’

But Jack Posobiec just said that Antifa has been operating since the 1920s

Didn’t the French try appointing their own pope once? How did that go?
seosamh.bsky.social
Jack would like everyone to know that anti-fascists have been around since the rise of fascism.

In Parable of the Sowers, the fires in 2025 were being started by users of a drug that fueled a kind of pyromania. It turns out, instead of a drug, we have chatgpt.

I’m not sure why, but this footbridge in Portland is labeled Wesley Crusher St in Google Maps

C‘mon now. There was no shift in debate. It was always their plan to create some pretext to invoke the insurrection act. Fascism and a dictatorship were always the plan with these crooks.
carlquintanilla.bsky.social
“.. the debate inside the administration has shifted recently, from whether it makes sense to invoke the act to more deeply exploring how and when it might be invoked ..”

There may be something to this. I still encounter many considerate people. But it does seem a kind of selfishness in a significant percentage has become emboldened, and given permission to be their worst selves.

Combine that with worse distraction and ever larger cars, and it gets bad.

I’m trying to believe the social compact still exists for many of us, even most of us. But there are enough people who have abandoned it to throw things into chaos.

Then again, the school drop off line is not a thing I have partake in.

There was a whole discussion about this here, a while back

Had a guy barely miss me whipping around a corner, while I was in the crosswalk. Next thing I know, the guy is out of his car following me and screaming at me.
Unfortunately, this is not an uncommon response.

As Trump sends troops into US cities, talks about waging wars against democratic “strongholds, and murders people the Caribbean, CNN asks…

I think it’s more than this. I think they see Trump’s 2024 win becoming permanent as their desired outcome. They want MAGA to remain in power. And they want to maintain their privileged place in all this.
gregsargent.bsky.social
Do CBS News executives understand that MAGA will not be in power forever? I genuinely think this is lost on a lot of people. They've gotten scammed by bad actors into believing Trump's 2024 win represented something seismic and even permanent. I predict they'll look back on this as a serious error.

CBS News current president Tom Cibroski praised Weiss on the call, saying "Bari's energy and passion is infectious and you will feel it, big time." He also added that the Free Press and CBS News "are going to learn a lot from each other...that's what this is all about."

In the show Andor, the camera scrolled past scenes of reporters on Ghorman, relaying scenes of chaos and talking about attacks on “our brave troops” while people at home ate it all up, setting up the scene to an inevitable massacre.

While CNN posted an article here on Bluesky paired with a photo of a donut shop burning, with troops standing in front of it. The photo was from 1992.

See…posts like this do not lead me to see NPR as a trustworthy news source in these times. Undermining our Constitution, and sending troops into cities, citing fictional crimewaves as pretext, is not fucking “bucking tradition”.

President Trump is bucking tradition and legal precedent in pushing to deploy the National Guard to Democratic-led cities like Portland, Oregon, and Chicago due to what he says is rampant crime and to support his crackdown on illegal immigration.
