"near the bear," is out today! From walrus encounters at 79° N to watching the ocean freeze at -35° C, the album celebrates the High Arctic. Sounds played on natural and human-made objects intertwine with field recordings and site-specific improvisations in five works about Svalbard & Greenland.

Just finished screening The Hottest August (Brett Story, 2019) as the first film for my ecocinema class and goddamn that's a great movie. This is the fourth(?) time I've seen it and each time it gets better and better--more alive, and more urgent. Hope the students felt the same.

Xynthii users, I've added some significant features.
Oscs:
1. You can now switch between frequency modulation and phase modulation. Alt/option click the fm text box to switch. It is quite a different sound.
2. All oscs can use all three waveforms now.

We like to think of cassette players as the next step forward from iPhones. Instead of “apps” in your phone, which can perform limited tasks, with cassette decks, you can load “tapes”, and these have a much more sophisticated, often life-changing, depth of functionality.

In 2019 I bought a 2002 Powerbook to run the original from 2006. Time warp. Now I don't have to anymore.
