this is talking about comics (not movies or tv shows), and DC is also owned by a megacorp (Warner discovery, soon to be Netflix if that goes thru). I highly doubt Disney is involved in the day to day of making comics but maybe I’m wrong as I so often am

not really “crazy” I guess but I mean, interesting

I think the TV show unambiguously portrays them as evil, but the books are more nuanced. obviously GRRM hasn’t finished them (and likely never will), but there’s at least hints of them talking to each other, having their own weird ice language, and therefore some measure of “humanity”.

it’s the reverse of the Targaryens…fire people who seem closer to gods then men, but in actuality are just men and women all along. The White Walkers are just ice people, the equal and opposite. To have them be pure evil without nuance or redeeming qualities seems like a betrayal of the themes

every antagonist, even the most evil, was revealed to ultimately still be human. Jaime Lannister was the classic case of this…seemingly pure evil, in reality nuanced, with mix of good and bad qualities. The White Walkers should be the culmination of that…scary but still ultimately “human”.

Then your “scouring of the shire” is Danny’s war for the throne, and subsequent “mad queen” rule. Maybe if they had listened to me the show would’ve been successful! (he said about one of the most successful shows of all time)

the only way to end it is rather than slaying the White Walkers, Jon Snow has gotta broker some kinda truce. GoT seems like an anti-war series…doesn’t make sense for it to end in propping up a nameless, faceless, inhuman evil to kill in yet another war.

it just makes sense…I mean Aegon the Conqueror, uh, conquered the whole continent and he’s remembered as a King Arthur-level hero. The White Walkers are just doing that but with ice rather than fire.
