It strikes me -- not for the first time, but, well, I'm thinking about it now -- that it's kind of astounding that DC put so much trust in Julie Schwartz in the mid-70s, at a time Marvel was eating DC's lunch and comics sales overall were declining, and Julie just didn't seem to be trying very hard.

No better show at the amazing standards Eric Adams brought to the race that a candidate is making a point that he will not need anyone’s help to not go to jail.
Mamdani: "I just want to speak directly to the president. I will not be a mayor like Mayor Adams who will call you to stay out of jail. I won't be a disgraced governor like Andrew Cuomo who will call you to ask how to win this election. I can do those things on my own."

The comic has it’s own stuff that’s worth while. Much clearer on the angle of how destructive toxic masculinity with Wee Hughie and Billy Butcher’s relationship being more clearly built on him being a bad influence on the nice, polite and uncomfortable with violence Wee Hughie.
yeah i've never read the comics but i can still see where they've sanded down the edges
sometimes i don't like it when they do that -- like Mark Millar's "Wanted" which turned it from something offensive but interesting into something mildly ugly and boring. but here, i'm betting it was necessary

As someone who read all the comics when they came out, I was really trepidatious about the show at first because the comic is so...Ennis, the show is so much better.

Love learning my grandfather’s taste in film. Fucking hates Stallone and his favourite movie is Pulp Fiction, he saw Grand Budapest and didn’t hate it (that’s 1/3 for him and Anderson).

It’s a decent action movie but really that’s it. I liked it but my grandfather has argued it’s hard to find a movie I don’t like. Not as funny as Madame Webb.
"Kraven the Hunter" is the most boring of the Sony Spider-Verese movies, even more boring than "Morbius" which is quite boring
