So my two pumpkin pie making hints are these
1. Use unsalted Kerry Gold butter for shortening in your pie crust and
2. Substitute a dulce de leche (caramel) for the sweetened condensed milk part of the recipe.
You will never bake a pumpkin pie the traditional way again
