In the 1657 satirical French novel The Comical History of the States and Empires of the Moon and Sun, the narrator observes that morning dew found on grass is sucked up by the sun, so he attempts space travel by bottling the dew and using the bottles to fly. (It doesn't work.) #WyrdWednesday

So it convinces teens to unalive, men to leave their families and run off to their deaths in rainstorms, tells people to eat poison, and encourages arsonists. Sounds like building a 70 football field deep data center and hinging our entire economy on this tech was a REALLY BAD IDEA.

I hate to say it but the majority of the country is not going to die on the hill of trans rights. We can’t protect ANY groups if we can’t win a national election, so purity tests only serve to make specific groups feel triumphant. That’s not “erasing” them; it’s long-horizon strategy.

I don't know how to convince people that trans rights aren't some unique and special thing. It's literally just about healthcare, security, and identity. If America decides it can deny medication to Lisa because of who she is, then it can deny care to anyone.

Deepest respect to his family for this vulnerability and openness during a time of what I can only imagine to be heart-rending grief. Alcoholism has a terrible cost and can be subtle, especially in a high-stress industry where winding down with your peers so often means drinking together

Sadly, it's not just bad luck... he struggled mightily with alcohol issues in his life it appears. This quote below is from later in the article, his family specifically cited his cause of death to bring awareness to how serious drinking problems can be. Just terrible.

“My brother struggled with alcohol issues in the industry,” said Rachel Ruiz, 45, Woodward’s older sister. “We don’t want people to speculate about his cause of death. We want people to know how serious alcohol can be and to get resources. Even if you don’t feel like you’re sick, it’s doing damage to your body.”
