Senior EU officials believe Trump simply wants to be the President who paints the stars and stripes – and maybe his own name – on the giant white island which appears to dwarf the United States on traditional
maps and globes. This is far from over

9/ Until you push back and demonstrate real consequences for crossing red lines, you will remain an object in Trump’s thinking, not a subject. Deterrence is the only language leaders with authoritarian mindset understand.

7/ If Greenland is lost this way, more losses will follow. In 2014, we, Ukrainians, were forced to give up Crimea under the pressure from the US to avoid confrontation and war. Crimea was lost, and war still came. This is not a problem you solve by sending angry letters or by giving up

Amazing stuff! Are these run from YouTube playlists or something stored locally? I only ask because I have YouTube premium and I'd like to run it via my TV. I don't have the correct leads to connect my laptop otherwise.

Tbh I don’t think it’s enough for nice Americans just shrug and go “oh yeah those Trump admin guys are nuts!” anymore. Your country basically *is* those guys now and they boast on main about doing lebensraum.

“Only 1/3 of Americans support this!” ok but that seems to be all they need

My general opinion on birthrates discourse is that there's a genuine problem in that many people globally cannot have the families they want because of the lifecycle structure of modern economies & cultures, but the focus on 300-year demographic outcomes just obscures that

I'm angry at how badly feminism has failed, or more accurately at how weakly we all defended it. We knew the threat, knew how it would pan out, saw the red lines being crossed and collectively did fuck-all about it. And now we're here and you can't put the shit back in the donkey.

I don’t think any collective European defence advocates are calling for immediate strikes on US. Most not even on Russia.

But giving up even the *pretence* of shooting back if Russia or the US tried to annex Estonia or Greenland… I’m not sure that would be very smart.
Some of the more self aware ones may consider a pivot to collective European defense but honestly "we should go to war with the US" sounds even stupider than their current "we should go to war with Russia" so temper expectations even then

There's a definite sense among the lord of chaos types that the US would never take a hit in a lawless world. It's a failure of imagination
