The UK should join the growing boycott of Eurovision if Israel is allowed to take part.

Eurovision is a celebration of diversity, love and unity. But that's not possible if it’s being used to whitewash genocide.

Israel should be removed as Russia was after its invasion of Ukraine.

The political attacks on LGBTQ+ people, especially trans people, are part of a concerted push to institutionalise authoritarianism. We can only defeat fascist ideas by refusing to coddle or sympathise with those who spread them. Solidarity with LGBTQ+ and other communities defending their existence.

This EHRC guidance is designed to push trans people out of public life, making it nearly impossible for them to leave their homes.

And this onslaught doesn't just hurt our trans siblings. Cis women who don't conform to gender stereotypes are already under attack too.

Make no mistake, if the UK Labour government are successful in unpicking Article 8, everyone’s human rights, right across Europe, could be negatively affected. All in pursuit of scapegoating the 0.5% of people who are trans.

It is worth remembering that various governments over the years, even when claiming to have brought in progressive legislation for trans people, have often only done so after a European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) ruling.

The Gender Recognition Act (2004) is one such piece of legislation.
