Why Mike Johnson is refusing to swear in a duly elected member of the House of Representatives.

Because denying voters their democratic representation is how the GOP “protects” our representative democracy!

It's coming to an end guys. I've spoken to a lot of House Republicans this week and they've confided that Trump's movement/support is fading. As one told me, "this Epstein bomb is about to drop and no want wants to defend a pedo-protector. It's just a matter of time."

One Republican just texted me that if there's a discharge vote on Epstein they expect a "jail break" of over 100 members. Trump will go nuts!

Except TACO himself, since the SCOTUS conservatives decided he’s immune even though they claim to be “textualists” and the Constitution says absolutely nothing whatsoever about presidential immunity.
No, no, TACO is saying that undercover Antifa committed all the violence, and his poor peaceful beleaguered J6 supporters who just love this country got unfairly blamed for it.

Which is why he pardoned everyone convicted of violence, y’see.
Drivers of the world (or at least of the US):

Hazard lights do not allow you to stop or park illegally.

They are meant to indicate a vehicle that is a “hazard” to others because it is physically unable to move.

They do not make it legal for you to block traffic just because you feel like it.

Trump: "We took the freedom of speech away because that's been through the courts and the courts said you have freedom of speech, but what has happened is when they burn a flag it agitates and irritates crowds."

Taking mandatory annual ethics training at work. Read the following in the "Bribery" section:

"...all [countries] have made bribery illegal, especially when it involves government officials."

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Almost every example listed is something TACO has done repeatedly, with no consequences.
Happiest Anniversary!

Am I the only one who has to post something every time I check Bluesky, just so I can figure out how far to scroll back through all the reskeets the next time I check?
Oh, it’s (allegedly) worse than that:

“While on the phone with 911, Rinderknecht allegedly typed a question into ChatGPT: ‘Are you at fault if a fire is lift because of your cigarettes,’ according to the criminal complaint.”

Also he allegedly asked genAI for a picture of a burning city beforehand.

MOPOP has an exhibit for “Mr. Pointy,” the stake from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
I believe that is at the Museum of Pop Culture in Seattle, WA.

Hey all, I'm trying to get a baseline for how good people are at detecting whether fiction is AI-generated or human-written (most of the research on this is for nonfiction and my hypothesis is we're better with fiction).

If you have time, give it a try?

Early voting is underway for Prop 50 in California.

I urge anyone in the state to vote yes.

This isn’t a race to the bottom. It’s a means of avoiding the bottom. https://robertreich.substack.com/p/what-blue-states-should-do-when-red
It has been suggested that calling Stephen Miller a “toadie” was hurtful, insulting, and just plain wrong.

Upon reflection, I agree. I hereby apologize to all toads.

SCOTUS said TACO is presumptively immune.

His appointed “advisors,” whom Congress never vetted or approved, are not.

Time to arrest Stephen Miller for wanton and reckless endangerment. (And terrorism, according to his own definition.) And sue his ass for defamation and fraud.

Trey Reed, a student at Delta State University in Mississippi, was found hanging from a noose. Mississippi police ruled the death a suicide. Now an autopsy reportedly concludes that he suffered extensive blunt force trauma across his body before he died, meaning he was beaten before he was lynched.
Kaepernick-Funded Autopsy Reportedly Finds Trey Reed Didn’t Die by Suicide — Family Attorney Ben Crump Hasn’t Confirmed
According to a source who isn't authorized to comment publicly, the autopsy of Trey Reed reveals that his death was not caused by a suicide.
