The power of collaborations! With @shaharsu.bsky.social, his PD @jessniblo.bsky.social and CALVADOS3 (thanks to @lindorfflarsen.bsky.social ) we show how STI1 (red) may engage with sequences that match transient helices within IDRs of Ub-binding shuttle protein Dsk2 www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...

📢 Excited to share our research with @shaharsu.bsky.social & @mvstaller.bsky.social on how activation domain (AD) structure affects gene expression! 🧬 TLDR: HIF-1α & CITED2 ADs suggest ensemble dimensions may regulate transcription in unique ways.

The STARLING has landed - excited to share new work from @bornanovak.bsky.social and @jefflotthammer.bsky.social in what is also Borna's first Bluesky post!

If you're at BPS, I'll be speaking about this this afternoon in IDP SG, and Borna and Jeff both have posters (Sunday B112 and Wed B152).

🎉🧪New perspective paper! Single-point missense mutations are common in disordered regions but are often overlooked👀. We analyzed thousands of IDR point mutations associated with human congenital diseases to show that many can significantly change local IDR ensemble structure!

We're back for 2025! This week we welcome Adam Klosin and Randal Halfmann for the first IDPSeminar of Season 17!
Poster for Adam Klosin and Randal Halfmann's IDPSeminars talks. Adam's (from the Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology of the Polish Academy of Sciences) talk is titled "Organization of stress response in the nuclei of developing C. elegans embryos", while Randal's (from the Stowers Insitute) talk is titled "Sequence-structure relationships of amyloid kinetics in cells".

🎉Finally out! Our paper shows that intramolecular interactions in disordered proteins 🍝 can be strong enough to hold inside the cell. 2 years in the making and a labor of love of many people, including @alexholehouse.bsky.social. rdcu.be/du9TY

Today presenting alongside Benedetta Bolognesi in the Condensate Colloquium Series. Not on Bluesky yet, so must shamelessly self-promote, see yours later :-)

Also, repost appreciated 🙏

A labor of love - our review on why IDRs matter for cellular function is live in Nat. Rev. Mol. Cell. Biol:

Working with Birthe Kraglund on this was such a pleasure, and we hope this review will be helpful to a broad audience!
