Lorwyn Eclipsed is so good and I'm enjoying it so much already but I'm starting to feel a bit of anxiety and frustration that in like a week it's all going to be eclipsed by the hype train for TMNT or early Marvel previews or whatever

I just want to stay here and chill for a while

I just listened that my 6th-to-8th-grade English teacher passed away. Mrs. Laibach was a small short-haired lady with big glasses whoo taught grammar VIGOROUSLY. She did not teach down to us, we were expected to work up to her level.

I love iodized salt. I love fluoridated water. I love enriched flour.

I love public health tools that save lives and improve quality of health just by silently existing. They're amazing.

Re-watched Four Rooms before midnight. What a weird, wonderful film. Tim Roth has an absolutely incredible physical performance, and the final vignette has my favourite ending. 5 stars!

Books, poems, film, etc. may require retraining a brain to slow down.

And it's important bc while scrolling social media pushes the happy button, it rarely provides actual happiness. It's like food with no nutrients; your brain ate a lot but it's still starving for things that scrolling can't give.

I had the pleasure to run the Hogswatch-themed one-shot from the new Discworld TTRPG from @modiphius.bsky.social. My five players and I had a super fun time! The game was flexible and easy to pick up, and allowed the silliness to flow unimpeded. Y'all should check it out!
Happy Hogswatch, everyone!

The older I get, the more my politics mature from childish, naïve beliefs like "the world is complicated and leaders have to make hard decisions" to more serious, adult principles like "hurting people is bad and helping people is good."
