I went to a lecture this week that discussed the federal Local Journalism Initiative grants. There is only ONE dedicated LJI reporter in Alberta covering the legislature. One. The public has no idea what the government is up to because reporters have no access to them. That is the AB news story.
It's wild & infuriating to me that I now live in a place where there are credible reasons to believe that our government is involved with threatening it's own citizens to cover it's corruption. The kind of thing I used to only hear about from people that fled places to come here.
