In May 2025, DCG Philanthropic released a report recommending Regina city council build a baseball stadium on the Yards. In light of my prediction that we're going to be hearing some baseball stadium news this year, I took a deep dive into that report: queencityib.com/blog/2026/1/... #yqrcc

Housing is expensive because land is expensive. Some day we might have the technology to build multiple units of housing on a piece of land.

Why are Colorado home prices so high? Look down.
Colorado ranked 7th both for the value of residential lots per acre and for the increase in residential land values between 2012 and 2022, a study found.

Tomorrow, council is holding a special meeting to consider a motion from the Mayor to back a SUMA campaign urging the prov to grant Sask cities more revenue tools.

I swear previous councils have done this before. Not sure why this particular motion is so special it needs its own meeting. /1 #yqrcc

Entitled American asshole demanding Europe do something his congress and the Democrats won’t.

And Carney's speech? Fuck me. I guarantee the parts the podcasters & progressives are creaming about were written by a staffer Trudeau left behind. Then Carney came in with a red pen and put in the shit about investing in AI & cutting corpo taxes.

These fucking Democrat podcasters & that piece of shit Newsom who're angry the European response to Trump has been feckless & weak. You mean they're acting like DEMOCRATS?

Donald Trump wants to own Greenland. Canada might be next.

One thing is certain: if he does attack Canada, there will be plenty of right-wing media figures and Conservative supporters who will happily justify and defend his decision. #cdnpoli

Canada’s fifth columnists are showing their hand
Donald Trump is threatening to invade Greenland, and Canada might be next. It's time to look around and figure out who would fight back — and who would surrender.

IMPORTANT: As Davos is back in the news, you should DEFINITELY watch and share this. It’s still right.

Fucking Carney, man. Fucking at Davos talking about how Canada is responding to Trump by cutting corporate tax & investing in AI & energy (read: oil) meaning the guy has completely misdiagnosed who the real hegemons are.

Too short but smart piece on how public consultation drives up costs of municipal projects, sometimes doubling or tripling their price tags. The Toronto example is very reminiscent of what we're seeing w/ the Indoor Aquatic Facility, RPL central branch. #yqrcc

What is the cost of consultation?
Toronto recreation centre that started as $40-million project in 2016 has ballooned to nearly $113-million before construction even starts

Put out a monster blog post this morning about a proposal for a baseball stadium P3 at the Yards. It's a long read, if that's your jam. And yeah, I do think there is a decent chance that the Yards will be turned into some kind of Regina Field Of Dreams thing…

"Thank you" waves at cars while crossing are associated w/ pro-sociality.

Now do a study on what it means when drivers refuse to stop for pedestrians and instead bear down on them by creeping forward while they're in crosswalks.
Psychologists say that waving “thank you” at cars while crossing the street is strongly associated with specific personality traits
You’re halfway across the crosswalk, the light is blinking, and a car slows down just enough to let you pass. You lift your hand in a quick little wave, maybe add a half-smile. The driver nods. Two st...

A thing I left out of this post about the baseball stadium proposal (b/c I feared it would get lost in the morass of words) is that at this point, COUNCIL DOES NOT GET TO VOTE ON WHETHER OR NOT THE BASEBALL STADIUM IS BUILT AT THE YARDS! /1 #yqrcc

Trump just announced new tariffs on Germany, UK, France, Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Denmark & Finland—over Greenland. Yet he claims to have struck "comprehensive" trade deals covering 7 of these 8 nations.

If "deals" don't bind, why negotiate?

Extra credit: What has he done to U.S. leverage?

The front grill shunts people directly under the wheels, so you don't have inconvenient witnesses who can testify to police about how recklessly you were driving when you hit them.
GAC are also launching this.. uh vehicle, and I suspect we dont have the legal framework to deal with the styling but its a 3 row 7 seater 2.0L PHEV with a 25kwh battery

Has V2L and apparently makes a great family camping vehicle
