It has been a fantastic day watching my graduate student, Noelle Patterson, successfully defend her Master’s Thesis! She gave an excellent presentation & wrote an excellent document. I’m so grateful to have worked with her for my first 2 years as an Assistant Professor. We will miss her in the lab!

It was a great #AERA2025 bringing my students for the first time, presenting our work on SRL with videos, co-hosting the #MotSIG ECR social with the amazing @allisonzengilowski.bsky.social, & connecting with all my academic besties! 💙 Now I get to read in the mountains for a few days!

#LatePost but myself and other psychology faculty joined the #MarchForScience in Nashville. It was a great collection of TN scientists sharing how science is for everyone!

Something about the KuhlMedia & Mind lab is that we are going to try and find the joy in any possible moment (even now 🙃). This week’s joy was getting a sign for our new lab space and hanging the beautiful wreath made by PhD student, Haley Siegfried (and her mom 🥲).

Some more tweets I’d like to remember from Twitter… defending my dissertation during COVID and saying bye to the Mary Frances Early College of Education for the last time at @universityofga.bsky.social.

I’m deleting my Twitter & the app entirely, so gonna migrate some of my fav Tweets here. I’ve seen some fancy ways of doing this but I’m just going to #LowBudget take screen shots and post them here 😂 They’re mostly for me to not lose some of my fav memories.

First is my last #AERA as a postdoc 🥲

Our department is doing a spooky door decorating competition for Halloween. Naturally the KuhlMedia & Mind Lab went all out and painted ours in honor of the best professor to ever do it… Professor Minerva McGonagall.

The KuhlMedia & Mind lab had their first full lab attendance at #APA in Seattle. It was such a gift to see Noelle Patterson and Haley Siegfried present our research on feedback & generative drawing, and to see the conference through their eyes! I can’t wait to see where this little lab goes next!

The KuhlMedia & Mind Lab recently celebrated a successful first year! We each toasted to an academic achievement & an academic moment of encouragement because emphasizing moments of support, kindness, joy, & encouragement are just as important as the achievements that go on our CVs.

Full circle moments at #AERA24. Re-connecting w/ UGA folks from my PhD program, and with @jeffgreene.bsky.social, @mattbernacki.bsky.social & my UNC besties from my postdoc. And getting the, newly minted, #TNtrio @rrachelwonggg.bsky.social & @czpuede.bsky.social together for the first time of many!
