📖 Out now: Nytho | Neuen
📚 Coming Jan 13, 2026: Blessed is the Rot
✍️ WIP: Blessed is the Link | Blessed is the Sync
Fenrir longs for a return to his glory days, but that would mean a pardon by the Church and, even more improbable, Fenrir forgiving himself for his own grave crimes. He is lost in a limbo of pain, adrift and without purpose.

Blessed is the Rot, coming January 13.

A new short story is out! “To Keep the Non-Euclidean at Bay” is a companion story to my next novel Blessed is the Rot, but it can also be a standalone read.
November 7, 2025 at 12:40 PM
The Church of Impermanence rules Simetria. It is responsible for keeping the creep of the non-Euclidean at bay. This includes warding distortions, corrupted pockets of spacetime, and providing mercy killings to those that come in contact with them.

Quote #1 from Blessed is the Rot, dark science fantasy coming January 13.

But Simetria is not all there ever was. It was constructed on the bones of the Old World, a city still brimming with now-rotting synthetics that the Bygones lusted after.

I finally got around to ordering print copies of the two issues of @clarkesworldmagazine.com with my stories. They’re smaller than I imagined, but I’m loving the size!

I’m on a moss-reading kick this morning thanks to a recent trip to the Black Forest. I’ve always thought these weird little plants looked so cool and gave off peaceful vibes. I’m thinking there’s the seed for a short story somewhere here.

Added this statement to my website’s About page.

In related news, Nytho was pirated by Anthropic. The payout situation is uncertain for indie authors. What a time to get serious about my writing 🫠

Finally got the author proof of Blessed is the Rot from the printing company. Currently at page 95 out of 323. I’m always glad to catch errors at this stage. It’s crazy how much you miss reading on a screen!

You know, why don’t I just make that future myself in one of my books? I already know the perfect one for blimps to be featured in 😎

My spreadsheet tracking progress from first draft (top) to publication (bottom) for all 16 novels in the Alfom Shared Universe. Two down (Nytho and Neuen). Fourteen to go!

Introducing my new favorite flower which it turns out is chicory, a weed as my mom called it!

Weed or not, I adore that purple, like a color on the edge of sight. Maybe it happened to influence parts of my latest short story, currently sitting in the Clarkesworld queue (fingers crossed)?

“What is your book about?” Ugh, the hardest question for any writer. How can I distill hundreds of pages down into a sound bite? What’s easier is saying what my book is similar to. In that spirit, here’s a This+That for Neuen. Release is less than a week out!

The air of Neuen is too thin to breathe, hence the need for the ONi crystallites. These are a solid form of oxygen and nitrogen that are grown on the luftor trees, the most precious crop of the Reisende.

From Neuen, a sci-fi genetic engineering novel, coming July 8, 2025.

The genetic engineering conflict resulted in the creation of countless genetic chimeras by the Reisende’s ancestors. These are the labspawn.
