Little bit of a stormy ride home tonight. 😬🤞

Storms over Nebraska as viewed from my sweaty SW window seat. 😂

As much as I love Santa Cruz, nothing like being home.

Midwesterners are the best-iners. 🥰

I haven't had a camera out in ages. What's the first thing I find today? 😐 It was a lovely, but itchy, lunch walk. 😂🌿

American dog tick. Male, I think...

One of the wilder political things in recent history is that Project 2025 publicly released a 900 page document laying out their plans to roll back 100 years of human progress and then during the campaign Republicans just said "no we're not :)" and then they won and now they're doing it all.

Lesser goldfinch. 🪶

Since we are getting rid of people's names in bird common names, can we do away with the "lesser" business, too?

Feels so....rude. 😁

I am buzzing with excitement just back from another trip to see this spectacle! There is something profound about the great Sandhill Crane migration at the Platte River. Each morning is like tuning in live to nature’s crescendo—soft purrs in low light transform into a booming, prehistoric orchestra.

Hi, just a reminder that when you use Libro.fm for your audiobooks, you support independent bookshops vs. large corporations that drive them out of business.

We also pay taxes. And so do indie bookshops.

I usually do up-close macro photos of mushrooms, but sometimes it's fun to zoom out and show the whole scene I stumble across. This group of beautiful bright blue Mycena amicta caught my eye immediately as I came around a bend in the trail 💙🔵 🍄📷 📸🎞 🌿🌱 🟢 🍄‍🟫 🍄 📷

Done!
call your assemblymember and let them know you want a public statement immediately stating that the great state of California does not respond to blackmail, but we will be perfectly willing to stop subsidizing red states with our taxes & agriculture if the President wants us to stand on our own
The president is conditioning federal aid for Los Angeles by demanding that California pass a voter ID law.

Hard truth for the Democratic Party: everything & everyone who led to this, from party leadership, the major consultants, the strategy, to the platform must all go.

There must be a total rebuild of the party, starting with funding, then policy.

This is a failure.
