Jewish Magneto's backstory is his parents killed in the holocaust. Would Disney show Black Magneto's parents getting lynched by men with confederate flags?

One of the reasons I kinda like Alweg-style monorails is that they're really quiet and have minimal visual interruption in cities compared to most elevated trains.

Yea, I think subways became popular in part because old heavy rail trains were very loud.

It's also why a lot of old rail lines avoid city centers: coal-powered trains were extremely loud and dirty. But it also means that a lot of our rights-of-way aren't as useful as they could be in 2025 🚂

This is what I really like about it: you can see where things are in relation to other things and it lets your brain make connections that can be used for non-transit modes of getting around.

It is kinda cool popping up somewhere different, but I've found it means that I often don't know what surrounds the different places and what is along the way - because I don't see things while being transported.

Seeing things along the way helps me find new things in the city.

Like, I don't want to sound too down on subways and I certainly prefer a city with a good transit network, but subways sometimes feel like a city deciding that public transit is bad and shouldn't be seen, lest it annoy the driving folk

One of the reasons I don't love subways is that they rob riders of views and stimulation, putting them in a dark tunnel

Elevated trains allow you to look out and see the world

Subways sometimes feel like the world saying, "The surface world is drivers! Now get out of the sunlight you non-driver!"

One of the cool things about the Vancouver Skytrain is the ability to photograph from the front window! It takes a bit of luck, patience and a clear windshield. But the results give a great impression of how transit has shaped the region. Pictures from April 2025.

Internet sleuths recently compared screenshots and suggested the mystery guest resembles Robert J. O'Neill, the former Navy SEAL who claims to have fired the kill shot on Osama bin Laden.
O'Neill, who's been a frequent Fox News contributor and commentator for years, has a long history of appearances on the network.
The recurring use of masked figures resembling him has sparked fresh criticism of Fox's credibility and its penchant for sensational, poorly vetted segments.
