I’m going to be Mr. Neolib Squish and say “revoking citizenship” is not one of the Trump plays we should be copying, even for Elon.

The poem "Little Orphan Allie" was eye-opening to me. Mid 19th-century, the enlightened version of "caring for orphans" meant placing them as indentured servants in homes--where they could learn to be domestic servants as adults, which is about as much as they could hope for.

There's a former-mutual on Twitter whose pinned post, to this day, is "Speech from the right = Violence ; Violence from the left = Speech". He's so proud of it, he QTs it into threads given the slightest excuse.

I occasionally want to log back in and just scream obscenities at him.

There could be regulatory requirements here. Before the flight the attendant has to go through that "do you understand me and can you do the job, answer yes or no" script with everyone in the exit row. They might not be *allowed* to fly with a noncompliant person in the seat.

There are plausible scenarios like that! The fact that Anakin doesn't yet know he’s Team Dark Side could play out either way. Dooku could think “I can manipulate/corrupt him like Sheev was doing.” But he could also say “too much of a wild card, best to get rid of him.”

Even aside from personalities and personal history, I’d assume that whenever a Sith master dies, the new master’s fist order of business is to get rid of everyone with a personal attachment to the old master—which emphatically includes all of those “on-deck potential apprentices” like Anakin.

I understand why people *want* the police to intervene--normies are like, 'I thought cops are supposed to arrest people doing crimes, ICE is right there doing crimes, go do your thing'

but police organizations take nearly every opportunity to be like, 'oh you misunderstood what our thing is'

The Fraternal Order of Police is on the side of MAGA and against the people they are supposed to be "policing." I think this says a lot to the people who insist local police are going to be "resistance."
