I just tell them, "No, I know that! This to combat the chemtrails. The Deep State doesn't want you to know that these masks block them. But regular masks don't-you have to have special ones labelled N for 'Neuroprotective' & 95 because they are laced w/protective Americium (atomic number 95)." Works

This story provides yet another example of why society cannot continue to tolerate the institutional culture normalizing manipulation in the medical literature.

The toxic "whatever it takes to win" culture that disregards patient safety is a direct threats to our childrens' lives and health.

We all work within a system predicated on greed, short-term profit, exploitation and environmental destruction, designed to make a tiny minority richer than Croesus

Capitalism is an obscenity that will be terminated by the climate catastrophe it has caused

Reuters photographer Jonathan Ernst noticed that Bondi flipped open a file during the Senate hearing and he zoomed in.

Inside were her crib notes for attacking the senators.

The GOP now practicing Cliff's Notes Fascism

In other words, under oath Bondi was purely a performance.

See? Proof of the terrible repression & persecution that Christians face! Well, real Christians, anyway.

MAGA mentality. He brought them coffee & cheered from the sidelines, then was bravely absent when the police finally moved in to break it up & arrest people. His kind know not to be there when the gas they brought is thrown on the bonfire. If he ever gets the chance, he'll void their convictions.

"Her house arrest sentence shows that in Canada blocking roads is only a crime if you have the wrong politics"

THE CONVOY TOOK OVER DOWNTOWN FOR THREE WEEKS.

THEY TOOK THE WHEELS OFF THEIR TRUCKS TO MAKE THEM HARDER TO MOVE.

PRO-PALESTINE PEOPLE GO HOME AT THE END OF THE DAY.

IT'S DIFFERENT.

Top story on the National Post.
FFS

Just chasing grievance clicks (and $$$) with absolutely no conscience at all.

The National Post & their American owners - who are ultimately responsible. If the National Post was owned by a politically-connected Chinese or Indian or Russian corporation, we'd start connecting dots. Why aren't we worried about the only country that talks about annexing us owning our newspapers?
shuilian.bsky.social
Weird that an American-owned newspaper would platform views that so transparently hurt Canada & promote MAGA-aligned figures. What possible reasons could they have for doing that?

I fear if things don’t change right now, this image is going to come back to haunt us
Laura Rodriguez, on Twitter:

A federal agent points a weapon at a woman who was recording them.

Jess, a U.S. citizen and member of a neighborhood patrol team that documents and shares ICE activity across the city, was filming when the incident occurred earlier today in the Berwyn area.

Definitely. That will definitely happen. The CPC live in mortal fear of showing any hypocrisy or double-standards. They are, after all, the party of Law & Order (when they're not fetching coffee for insurrectionists, obviously).

100%. Obviously, great minds think alike....

So sorry to hear that. It's possible to philosophise about pain if you've only experienced painful events/episodes. If you or someone you love has chronic pain, you know better. As you say, it just hurts & all that matters is making it stop.

Indeed. I agree that suffering generally reveals, rather than builds character (obviously, there are exceptions). Indeed, I think it often erodes not just character but even one's very personality. The COVID example is very apropros.

Excellent palate cleanser.

You need to be more understanding: the Family Compact is just such an integral part of the history of Upper Canada/Ontario. The Fords are doing their best to keep that rich heritage of oligarchic corruption & illiberalism alive...

This is what really, really, really worries me about COVID. Not acute lung damage (which is bad enough), but a huge chunk of the population succumbing to early dementia because of chronic vascular or neurological inflammation over time.

It's Banned Books Week. This image is a cheeky reminder of one of the best ways to get the good stuff that the fascists don't want you to read.

It's available as a poster or card, here: www.rlmartstudio.com/product/book...
An illustrated poster showing a medium-skinned young person sitting in the grass and plants under a tree, book resting in front of them, one hand up against their chin and cheek in thought. Parkland with dog walkers, trees and a cityscape can be scene in the distance. Words against the blue sky at top, in a beige bookish font, read: "I buy real books - in person - with cash - from independent bookstores." At bottom, in red: "The NSA doesn't need to know my business!"

Just wait. It is only a matter of time before somebody, independently, emerges to swear on a stack of Bibles that they *definitely* saw Michael Jackson do this w/their own eyes- & very possibly mean it. AI & human foibles are just a match made in Hell.

In connection w/your point, do you not find it a pernicious myth that suffering is ennobling & 'makes you a better person'? That can happen, of course, & people do learn from experiences, but we underestimate how often people learn the wrong lessons. Suffering often warps & damages victims, I find.

Since the French edition of my memoir comes out today, seems an ideal time to explain why "resilience is futile" is not just the snappy title of my book but the conclusion of my academic research and the overall theme of my life and those of other survivors :
shuilian.bsky.social
Actually, I would agree that there are more important things to focus on than COVID (in the grand scheme of things) - it's just that we know damn well that they won't be using *any* of the time or resources taken from fighting COVID for those problems.
