I want to watch TV coverage of the live fall of the Syrian regime.

CNN is airing a Giuliani documentary, Fox News has a comedian joking about Canada, MSNBC a documentary about migrants

So I turned on BBC,which is breathlessly switching between Syria, South Korea demonstrations, and Ghana election

Today my thoughts turn to the unnamed in this story: the 50 men he ordered out of the room before he began his shooting spree. Fifty men who complied. Who walked out and left their fellow students, all women, to die.
Who are they? Where are they now? How do they feel when they look back on that day?

If there was a “coarsening” of society, surely it occurred when businesses were established to profit off denying people healthcare. The main joke people are making in response to Thompson’s death is merely to treat it with the bloodless bureaucratic indifference that these companies perfected.

No one needs an assault rifle or a handgun - period -
We remember.

12 of the 14 were engineering students.

Specifically targeted because of that fact.

Either he thinks Canada is in Europe or he thinks the French and Swiss Alps are in Canada - either way, I don’t want him humping our flag like he does to the American flag
Trump posting a AI generated image of his imaginary 100lbs-too-light 50-year-old self at 4000 meters in the Alps, IN A BUSINESS SUIT, staring at a mountain on the border of Italy and Switzerland, thinking it's CANADA.

This is the ignorant booger-eating weirdo fantasy MAGA future Republicans want.

Honoured that my MLA chose to share my email in support of trans Albertans in the Legislature last month. It’s important to let our government know that we recognize their legislation as the shameful and hypocritical attack that it is. (My letter begins at the end of page 25 in Hansard)

I think pardons to Fauci and Vindemann are both sensible because (1) there is no plausible suggestion they have committed crimes and (2) the Trumpists have explicitly made them the target of planned political persecutions.
Plus, you know Trump is going to start throwing them out left and right, and would have directed his DOJ to endlessly investigate and prosecute Hunter. Fuck that. Biden should start offering pardons to Vindemann, Fauci, etc. Rob the motherfuckers of any joy.
The answer to “Biden has violated a norm by pardoning Hunter” isn’t “no he hasn’t violated that norm” or “it’s justified to violate that norm” but “BULLSHIT that’s a norm.” In fact, political pardons have been offered by both Republicans and Democrats.

I never gave a shit about “ideological diversity” on Twitter. That was incidental, and I was cool with it and liked it, but it wasn’t my priority.

The app was fun as fuck for a while, it helped me in building my career, and I met the love of my life on it.
If you want to argue Bluesky is an “echo chamber,” fine whatever, go for it.

I am not here to “learn,” im here because it is Fun for me. Twitter used to be Fun.

If you don’t find this also fun for yourself, there are arcade games, bowling, or (lol) Threads. Sky’s the limit

A few months before the outbreak in 2019, Kennedy travelled to Samoa and met with anti-vaccine figures, contributing to what health experts claim was a ‘significant disinformation campaign’

In the bargaining stage of grief, some Democrats — from the Pod Save crew to Jared Polis — are wondering if it's time to indulge conspiracy theorists instead of holding the line on the truth.

The answer is "hell no." Here's why.

No, progressives should not embrace conspiracy theories to win elections

I'm not sure we think enough about Canada's sovereignty over its freshwater supply wrt the US, and what sort of concessions on freshwater the Trump people will try to squeeze us in with their belligerence on trade.

I feel like an incoming conservative govt would sell us out on such negotiations.
