I would say that you have to train yourself to focus on the actual people who care about you & who you care about/respect. Also you have to really live into your values. Both of those things will help you weather the opinions of strangers. I think that's different than not giving a fuck.
It takes training and conditioning to not give a fuck what people think. Contrary to popular belief, even if you’re born with the ability society and peer pressure will slowly make you give a fuck. You have to unlearn, recondition, and focus.
Not giving a fuck takes practice. Go practice.

I truly wouldn’t wish becoming stuck in invisible transition on anyone. I know as well as any how it feels to be misgendered or prescribed. It’s a heart breaking position to be in, but it’s always our responsibility to mind our broken hearts and the way they make us cruel and careless

The issue isn’t hrt or validity. It is jealousy and stagnation. It’s people lashing out at a marginalized community while claiming to be in that community. Claiming we have privilege because of our ability to be out, like we don’t pick the photos we post before going out into the world to get hurt
