Life is an endless series of contextual ethics problems. Then you die.
Felt like getting it done early rather than dragging things out to the *literal* last minute. I got worried in the middle of the month that I wouldn't be able to catch up, but my Facebook Memories kept telling me how I'd been in worse situations before so I might as well keep going.

Was led to think about this again for literally no reason, it's just always true.

Showing cat for pet tax, he passed about two years ago but FB Memories just served me a photo captioned "Sure, he's cute, but: the number of times he has peed on me this week is not zero."

This is continuing in the vein of "Sean Is Mad And/Or Sad About A Number Again," except this time...?

Not sure if I am mad or sad or wistful or this is just a good moment for schadenfreude?

There is a key metric I have been keeping an eye on the past year, the price of Bitcoin.

Could always offer to proxy this card in order to make your Rule Zero deck more nearly real. (Pretty sure all the staff-only cards aren't actually legal in Commander outside of Rule Zero, but at least this would be a reasonable pathway to getting Joo Dee in the Command Zone.)

Today's #NaNoWriMo update: was able to get 4,000 words today, so I am passing the half-way mark four days late but *finally passing it*.

It will take more catch-up days before I can say with confidence I will hit my target, but my weekend is free and I have a lot of catch-up time over Thanksgiving.

It always messes me up that #MTG could mean either Marjorie Taylor Green or Magic: the Gathering, so this mashup was inevitable.

I don't know what more Balatro wants from me, I've beaten every difficulty level with every deck and achieved a truly ludicrous "highest point values per hand," that's a ten-digit number right there.

I have a friend trying to win with every joker at highest difficulty, and that's too far for me.

I don't have a shot of Julius from the side to be sure, but his nose is a little like that I think?

And the top of the curve. Novablast Wurm is more cute than good, but I want to pull it off somewhere and this is the deck it fits in.

I notice another conspicuous absence, in that I thought this deck had a copy of Aftermath Analyst already. Well, that's another card I will have to find room for.

Fives and sixes. Another common theme is 0/0 creatures since those are very large with Nethroi's Mutate trigger, but I had previously gone too far in that direction (see: Phantom Nishoba) and most of them aren't there for recursion this way.

They are for feeding to the Gitrog Monster.

Three- and four-drops. Icetill Explorer is the most recent addition but I am actually more excited for the Baloth Prime from the same set, since I sacrifice lands often and can get a lot of tokens that way.

Some choices made off of "if I draw Survival of the Fittest...", thus: Big Game Hunter.
November 11, 2025 at 3:06 PM
The one- and two-drops. Land searchers are a major element here and so you will see a lot of them, like this Elvish Reclaimer that I only found when I went looking for more Knight/Wight of the Reliquary effects.
November 11, 2025 at 2:59 PM
I at least remembered to add Demonic Tutor this time. (I forgot it in the first draft.)

I prefer my sweeper spells to be one-sided, and nothing is more one-sided than Everything Comes To Dust.

And as noted, this is my Life from the Loam deck, though it's a fairly recent addition.

Artifacts, enchantments, instants nd sorceries are all pretty light... because the deck is creature-heavy, and uses a good number you can play at instant speed instead of regular instants.

Considering my Commander has graveyard recursion, I would generally rather get those effects off of creatures.
November 11, 2025 at 2:53 PM
The artifacts and enchantments. I note something that is absent, All-Fates Scroll, that I thought I had added already but I guess not. It literally says "draw cards equal to the number of lands you control" for me, and I keep meaning to put one in. (Also surprised Urza's Cave wasn't in there.)
November 11, 2025 at 2:50 PM
The rest of the lands - again, a lot of the utility is that I will be able to hunt them up at Instant speed, so stuff like Sejiri Steppe is going to be much better than it looks thanks to classic Knight of the Reliquary tricks.
November 11, 2025 at 2:36 PM
Some more nonbasics, the fetchlands and utility lands. Some choices will look weird because they are meant to go with the various land-fetchers, each of whom has a different answer to "which land most profitably goes with them as the first one they search up?"
November 11, 2025 at 2:31 PM
The lands with a basic land type. The Snow lands are because every land has a different name, which basically advertises that yes, Field of the Dead is somewhere in here.

The random Cycling lands also foretell things to come (namely Life from the Loam).
November 11, 2025 at 2:27 PM
Haven't updated this deck in over a year, so there are lots of changes - it is now surprisingly landfall themed, and some of the cuter +1/+1 counter themes from Cytoplast Root-Kin and Renegade Krasis have been cut as too cute and ineffective.
