Today at 1109Z what looks like a mass spoof event of AIS-signal took place in central Baltic Sea.

In an area from approximately Bornholm to mid Gulf of Finland hundreds (thousands?) of new AIS-messages suddenly appeared. A large part of them military ships.

Does getting new notebook mean that I will start taking notes or am I just buying office supplies as coping mechanism again?

"Buzz buzz buzz. An then in june 2010 it stopped, and internet went mad."

This part from the podcast always has given me shivers. And now i am crying.

I am still not convinced about Leyens Bulgaria flight being hit by jamer.

However it was hit by jamer and a fucking russian circle spoofer over Estonia while on flight to Finland from Latvia.

Given that the plane was "picked up" by spoofer in middle of Estonia, not that seems targeted.

As a pilot, I have to say that the claims in the article don't make sense. All landings are manual except CAT III landings, which are based on the ILS system, not on a GPS-dependant system. Also, using paper charts doesn't affect the safety of flight. There is no difference to electronic charts.

Yes, please.

Because to me the current narrative doesn't make sense together with what we can observe from adsb data.

At very least to me this is very much NOT like kaliningrad. Maybe local QRM and airport controller playing it safe?
Even more technical confusion (likely). Some outlets runs with "radar was jammed"

I really hope EU/Bulgaria deliver a transparent incident report with all technical details.

Unlikely.

@auonsson.bsky.social has thread with deduction of what plane it is. It was transmitting valid gps coordinates and was on autopilot until it dropped out of ADSB range about minute from landing.

The loop is likely because it was too high for direct landing.

Anyone have additional information about flight?

can't spot anything fitting and also can't spot a cluster of impacted planes, but maybe i am missing something and need to narrow things down.
A plane carrying Ursula von der Leyen was forced to land in Bulgaria using paper maps after suspected Russian GPS jamming disabled all navigation systems at Plovdiv Airport, Financial Times reports. The aircraft circled for an hour before landing manually.

It's just me or Kaliningrad jammer eased up a bit?

US Air Force spent 7 hours sniffing for nuclear decay today, low over central Baltic Sea.

About 5000m NE of Gotland and down to 1500m closer to Kaliningrad.

The plane is a highly specialized one.

Low key looking for someone versatile in python to collaborate on research.
Mathy stuff, vibecoding probably won't cut it in the end.

"In celestial mechanics, the mean anomaly is the fraction of an elliptical orbit's period that has elapsed since the orbiting body passed periapsis"

At least I am not dealing with orbital mechanics 😅

investigated @oldsun.bsky.social russian circles find for a bit and boy, I'll have exciting time for a while.

9 o'clock seems significant, because at quick glance it seems that spoofed craft enters and exits circle at 9, as it travels straight line IRL. [1]

More certainly to follow.
at 9 o'clock of a circle there is almost always a "too good to be true" location, a lighthouse, a tower or a high ground or factory. This can not be a coincidence

Bolshoy Bor Big Wheel Jammer update (new method)
Looking only at "last know/first know good" before/after jam zone. The points are clearly bound to a certain region of a very busy sea route. Method: find the smallest optimal circle along the coastline enclosing the points, but not more than that

Since I set up my own adsb receiver, my morning routine is to watch small, low-flying planes and urge them to fly towards gnss death ray.

Come on little planes, I need data!
